Is that all you have to do to get rid of these nuts?

Of course, that wouldn't work so well when the nuts ring your doorbell at 7 am, and the guy is carrying his two year old in freezing COLD January! (true story). I guess they look for the sympathy vote by pimping out their kids. (Pimping out the kids is a no-no, and should tell you where these people are coming from). Nothing like teaching the unwitting child early in the game. If they have to peddle it door-to-door, what does that tell you? They can't read the "No Solicitors" sign either; guess they don't think it pertains to them.

I definitely wouldn't try to knock anyone's religion, but I like holidays too much to become Jewish.

I might qualify down under, though.

ok thanks for the attempt...I don't know what else I can do for my friend, but obviously its a very strict lifestyle and
they will just have to deal with it since I'm not in it.

A family on my block when I was a kid were JWs. They had two boys, and the older one was my age and was in my kindergarten class... he was never allowed to come to my birthday parties because of the JW thing. I felt bad for those kids... no b-days, no christmas, no halloween.

But they used to do the door-to-door thing, and the father would drag the poor kid with him. But when they got to my house... heh heh, they'd get my mom at the door. Because of being neighbors, and because my mom is a huge gossip and never shuts up, she would talk his ear off for a good 30 minutes.

heehee! i had an uncle that was genuinely curious about JW. when they would come to his door, he'd happily invite them in & ask them to explain EVERYTHING to him. he'd ask so many questions they could not answer. after an hour, they'd either be sucking their thumbs, doubting their own faith or running away from the house. it was quite fascinating, watching him confuse them with logic.

I did notice that after maybe two times that this happened, they ignored our house.

Their son was my first kiss when I was about 5. Yep... the evil little catholic girl from up the street came in and SPOILED their son.

Maybe you should ask stevew2. Where is he, anyway?

Those people have a one way mind all their own. They'd probably think you needed help because of the sign, and they'd put you first on their list to recruit.
