You Heard What Song Where?

Postby rockinfayrose » Thu Oct 22, 2009 1:05 pm

Do you ever pay attention to the music playing in the background as you eat at your favorite restaurant, buy groceries at the market or fill up the cart with frivolous junk at Target? Well, being the music nut I am, of course I do.

Today I heard "Born to Run" @ El Pollo Loco   Bean burritos & Bruce Springsteen, what an unlikely, LOL combination!!

You may not think of anything this minute, but the next time you hit the retail stores & local eateries, pay attention to what songs you hear & see if something interesting, funny or absurd blasts through the speakers.

Snarf. Like being in the cosmetics and perfume department of a very upmarket and expensive store and hearing Carly Simon's 'You're So Vain' coming on. Had to snigger.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Good song, I want to shop at your store

Ralphs Markets in CA have a very interesting daily setlist of songs...I mean I think Ralphs plays a great selection (except those Ralphs Fresh Fare stores where during the day all you hear is elevator music) but many of the tunes are unusual for a supermarket, such as hearing George Michael's "Praying for Time" & Staind's "So Far Away", amongst others, but I'm happy to hear em :) I used to hear alot of Air Supply at Ralphs - "Making Love Out of Nothing At All"
