Richie Sambora on Donny Osmond's new single

Postby Don » Thu Oct 29, 2009 2:10 am

Donny was on the radio today talking about his take on Gavin Degraw's "I have you to thank". The station had been playing the song all week without revealing who the singer was, and I have to say it sounds pretty good. No one guessed it was Donny. From what I gathered, Richie did all the guitar work on the song. The album releases next month.

Bon Jovi I like in spite of Jon's corny stage presence and even cornier lyrics, but Richie is a GREAT guitarist. Love that guy's playing! Great tone too.

And remember....

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Sambora is my favorite in that band. I love it when they do acoustic sets and are both just sitting there with their guitars and singing.

Yeah, same here. I do DOA like they do on acoustics in a duo now. It's really fun. Song always goes over really well. I think I'm going to pick up "Who Says You Can't Go Home" for a single thing I'm putting together and also they do a cool version of "Mrs. Robinson" that I want to do. Richie's just cool. Too bad he went through that funky period where his brain just appeared to pretty much vacate his head for about a year.

It's okay. I liked his first one better. On US, it seemed he oversang a lot. The first one I really dug though.

I think they always PLAY their guitars. They don't always SING- at least Jon doesn't.

Ah yeah......Donny was o.k. back when I was ten years old watching the D&M show. But that was it. Maria was who I really was watching the show for though. She was hot back in 76'/77'.

Watching Jon play the guitar is like watching Nick Rhodes play the synthesizer.
