It is a gimmick for consumers to use more of their product than they need to, plain and simple.

I ranted on this previously and you all acted like my wife, immediately implying I am the idiot and thus defending Tide. Bite me. I know I am an idiot. Just wish someone would play along for once.

Yeah, but during the Great Tide HE Dark Blue Cap exchange, you were given an easy way around it. Pour the Tide into a different measuring source that was lighter in color so that you would not be HAD by THE MAN and have to waste Tide.

Personally, I've never had a problem with detergent that was the same color as the cap because when I'm pouring, I use the "watch what the heck I'm doing" technique. It works pretty well.

This isn't quite the same as Hostess treats being made smaller than they used to be. I don't have an at-home fix for that. Therefore, I'm being taken down by the man.

I hadn't had Ho Ho's for a while and then we got a box recently. They ARE a little smaller and somehow, not as tasty. I think it's the foil wrapper that is no more.

Next time you're in the supermarket, pick up a jar of peanut butter. The manufacturers have hollowed out the bottom of the containers, which allows them to keep their containers looking the exact same size but using less product. Complete scam!

I know - I found a quarter ounce of weed in the hollowed-out bottom of a peanut butter jar that I bought from a grocery store. Probably some stoner who works in the peanut butter factory stashed it in there to keep from getting busted with it.

Errr.... wait a minute... maybe that was a decoy container that I bought at a head shop and it was my weed? I can't remember.

Like the thread title says, "Not Sure Really".

By the way, I could just see the Oxy guy working on your Fruit of the Looms on one of his infomercials. Good shit there.

The Oxy guy died this summer, so I guess Deano will have to go back to the old way... just burn them and buy a new pack.

The other night at work, I was so tired I thought going underwearless would stimulate me and keep me "interested" throughout the night. All it did was chaffe my fuckin inner thighs and make a rubbing mark on the head of Mr Happy caused by my Levi's. Not a good thought on my part.

Truth be told, I had no clean drawers available.

What a helpful fable! :D Much like Aesop's fox and the grapes story, a lesson can be learned. Keep your fox and grapes away from bare demin is what I have extracted from this, but feel free to examine for your own meaning.

Yes, I think that's from the Bible, Deano's tale. Wasn't that in Leviticus?

its called "margin expansion"... and its how manufacturers keep their profit margins in line... reduce the actual amount of product included per product unit and you reduce the actual COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) per unit... which automatically increases the profit margin, per unit...

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Surely that's as long as you can still reduce the amount of wine in a bottle. ;)
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Interesting theory Oliver Stone. :P Tide colour cooridinates it's tops for the appeal of difference. Let's see, off memory-

Pink= April Fresh with Downey included
Light blue= April Fresh included for HE machines
Light purple= Febreze included
Green- Mountain Fresh. How the fuck Tide captured the Sierras smell in their bottles is amazing.
Yellow= Dawn dishwater cleaning included in the bottle of Tide.
White= Bleach added
Dark Blue= Tide original and original for HE machines. You really think they are trying to fuck you over? Dude I always use two tops to make sure my shit stained undies come clean. Fuck I spray em down with ZOUT and use Oxy clean booster shit too. Sometimes, you just have to bow down to the the skid mark that will never come out.

Zout and Oxy clean suck...Dean, next time you have troubled white garments, try using powdered tide together with liquid bleach...guaranteed to get your nastiest undies sparkling white. :D Very impressed by your color-coded memory!

Here's a nice little thong for men that already comes in brown color, so no need to worry about the skids because they would match..

I think it was the late 60's early 70's we would buy a pound of coffee. Then all of the sudden the same size can held 13oz. The TP game is the best . I think you actually need a calculater for that item.

Funny you should say this. I noticed the other day when I bought TP that they are the same size rolls, and look the same EXCEPT they are about 1/2" or so narrower. WTF is THAT about?
