I still can't figure out how to use Google Earth and a GPS is harder for me to solve than a Rubic's Cube. Then again, I still don't know how to post pictures on here so this shouldn't come as a big surprise to anyone!  :x

Yes you are delusional , mr DrewCarey ;)

The monster catalogue of Yngwie with variety of songs , hard , heavy , ballads , instrumentals , classical , acoustic , plus the amazing album he did with the Jap Phil Orchestra , blows EVH outta the ocean almost to your shores. Maybe that's why you think so highly of E ;)

EVH hasn't done anything relavent since before 1984, when he 'discovered' the keyboards....

FYI - EVH didn't invent 'tapping', he just made it popular.....Stanley Jordan was doing it prior. Emmett Chapman actually was tapping in 1969, and Jimmy Page 'taps' in the solo for 'Heartbreaker', and Steve Hackett, of Genesis used it as well in the early 70s....

Another farce to undeservedly raise EVH to a more absurd level of genius....

Are you sayin Yngwie and Prince aren't good? Or that they should be higher?

Prince is a genius, but I'd rate him on his overal musical ability and songwriting rather than his guitar playing (which is amazing anyway). Yngie is a great shredder, but little else.

Neither should be above EVH, who revolutionized guitar playing in 1979 and influenced 2 decades of followers.

With all due respect Andrew, calling Yngwie a "great shredder" and little else is really kinda myopic for a guy who runs a music site dedicated to 80s-style music.

The guy invented his own musical genre/style of guitar (neoclassical) just the same way EVH did. He's also just as influential, at least among guitar players.

He doesn't have to. He turned music on its head... Like it or not, he is rated one of the very most influential players ever is the eyes of other players and people who really know what guitar playing is.

Not trying to knock him down at all...he is amazing....just questioning why EVH and a couple of others not ranked alongside him in this article. I like Yngwie....he's a funny guy and I have most of his albums over the years.

IC. I didn't even look at the list because such lists are ALWAYS dumb, just following the conversation here. EVH has to be on any top guitar player list that's for sure.

I have seen EVH live x5, Michael Schenker, Satriani, Keaggy, Moore, Emmitt, Randy Rhodes, Steve Vai, et. et.

For my money J. Mascis is one of the best I have ever seen... and he never seems to show up on any lists.

The guy is freakin uber, plus he writes great music.
