Japanese man marries virtual bride

There are geeks and dorks, and then there is this. See the video at the link.

A Japanese man has exchanged vows with a woman he met in the virtual world - a character from a popular dating simulation game called 'Love Plus'.

Sal9000, as the groom likes to be known, invited 40 guests to the wedding and broadcast the ceremony over the internet.

It's gotten so intense with some men and these virtual babes that some wives are starting to question whether this could be considered some form of cheating.

The game this guy was playing actually requires you to kiss the Nintendo DS.

I didn't watch the video, but people "marry" in Second Life all the time. The blurb for this story makes it sound like there isn't a person on the other side of this game, though...

Anything "virtual" is almost always a playground for really fucked up people that can't/don't want to deal with reality. Fuckin' weirdo.

I don't know anything about that game, but yeah - it seems like it's a game where you create a character... and the guy married his game character? Really super weird story.
