Ah life. No job, insurance ran out and our city’s Mayor can kiss my flat black ass. I am tempted to put out an ad for an old rich guy not sexually driven, allergic to Viagra & looking for a live-in house mate with 2 cats & a bus pass. *snort * Oh well. At least unemployment will cover my rent which leads me to say...

 Thank you for your thoughts, my dear. (seriously, my black ass IS flat.   *snort*!)

I am not always friendly in situations like this with the Mayor laying off all these people then we're told he wants us all to take a pay cut of 37.5 hrs instead of 40. He could have just said that 2 years ago! Oh well. Humor helps, I find. Oh and an occasional beer. :D

MG, I will take your prayers and treasure them completely. Off to gym then doctors. Enjoy with a flourish! Lorrie

Sorry to hear things are not going so well. Know I am thinking about you always. I have been sick for almost a month, and I am not seeming to shake it. Of course I still have to go to work, but when I feel like whining I remember there are exceptional wonderful people out there like you, who need jobs. I thank my lucky stars to have one right now. Sick or not, I need to do what I need to to keep mine. I gripe sometimes about the load, the ridiculous things sometimes I am asked to do, and the badly behaved students I deal with, but I know I love what I am doing in the long run.

I was where you were not long ago beleive me. Know that I keep hope that your wonderful new job is just over the horizon, and that even the bad will turn to good. Your always such a cheerful spirit, looking for that silver lining. Don't let life cloud that view.

As for my weekend..............probably not much. I was in bed all weekend last weekend due to illness, and may spend this weekend doing the same.

Lorrie, enjoy your delightful writing, and I hope the exhibit goes well. :D

Damn it girl, if TV execs had any sense, they'd be lining up to give you your own TV show - "MBPL Shows America The World". Sure fire comedy hit!
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Left MPLS at noon, and got to experience Chicago rush hour traffic at 5:30 pm in the pouring rain and those wonderful toll booths. Why do the booth attendants wear gloves...anyway, now I'm in Indianapolis and tomorrow heading to SC to meet up with family for "spring break". :D

Good luck with the job hunting Lorrie!

How the Hell did you cover 420 miles in 5.5 hours? You drive a fucking rocket? That's impossible. That trip takes 7.5 hours at best.

Alright, I exaggerated - I left at 11:45, stopped for 15 min in Beloit and hit the 355 freeway at 5:30 - it was so foggy in MN the cops couldn't see anyone so I went about 75 the whole way. I must say, your roads in IL are much better than MN and WI. And didn't see any State Patrol there - they are every 20 miles in WI. Minneapolis to Indianapolis is 585 miles. Only have 900 more to go! Aretha Franklin tunes help too.

Well, you validated my point. You were driving twice as fast as OJ Simpson on a LA freeway 10 years ago. :)

I rode the fuckin train 2 years ago MPS to CHI and it took almost 7 hours and I thought we went at a pretty good clip... I was hitting the bottle pretty hard there...I remember Appleton, WI, and Wisconsin Dells. Nice states up there in the northern tier. I have never seen however, more fat white pasty women in all my life as Whisky. Jesus, you could see 'em miles away bumpin' around city streets...looked like cows grazing but on pavement, not a field.

Yeah, I passed Amtrak along the way. I saw those pasty white things too, they were snowmen.

Thanks you guys. Found out my insurance stands for five years. The hospital did not have it their computers that my insurance refers back to my old position, which of course is no more. Almost lost my cool there.

Dean: Percocet? Hey, I watch “Intervention” I know what can happen with that stuff! No thank you, pal! I’m already addicted…TO NEVER BEING ADDICTED! Seriously, I’m so scared of drugs I used to think aspirin was addicting! Thanks anyway, Dink-miester!

Slucero: Thank you. My Irish ex-coworker is downtown with family and her bullhorn. She will have a few drinks, wait for the Mayor Newsom to ride in the St Patty’s Day parade then she will let him have it! She wants me to join her. I’m thinking about it. Yelling at the Mayor, that is, not drinking in the morning. I’m weak.

Ginger: I totally agree with you. And I too hate to whine, although, hell I’ll whine at a hangnail! The blessing is I know everyone is going through something right now. But what helps are folks like you here on MR who have, many of you, great senses of humor which is my best defense and medicine so far. As for the job thing I am truly not worried as I know I will go back to work, the city has to put me back to work even if it is with a pay cut. I just wish that idiot Mayor had stated that in the beginning, but whatever. I have more time to write, I have insurance, unemployment. Please feel better Ginger, rest my dear. And thank you for your kind words. I will try my best to stay positive!

Arianddu: Oh wow, thank you very much for the compliment! Actually, I was a playwright back in the 80’s in Hollywood and desperately wanted to be a t.v. writer. Unfortunately Hollywood proved to be a cruel brutal backstabbing place. Here are two examples of scripts I wrote and passed on to a working writer with her own t.v. shows and an ex-neighbor and secretary to Damon Wayons whom I thought both were my friends. I was VERY green back then. Those experiences forever changed my life, I probably will never go back there.

Married With Children: (my script was about Al Bundy having a shoe groupie. The episode was titled; "So This is How Sinatra Felt"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2D5k7zOO4No (go to 7:23)

In Living Color: (I wrote a script called “Yo Mamma The Game Show." Episode was titled; “Playin’ the Dozens” or “Dirty Dozens” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn5pbHxvChU

Babyblue: Stop swelling my head, it’s already about 5 miles around! And thank you, my dear. I do appreciate it.

Walk In My Shoes: Thank you sweet thing!

Enjoy, you guys! Lorrie :D
