General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

Just knowing that it was not a drug OD makes me view his death in a bit different light. Just a tragic result of an illness, it looks like. Sounds like he had been getting his act together and was there for his Mom. Sad, just really sad. I feel bad for his Mom.

There's no difference. He was a doper and that's what killed him.

Hey, asshole, just because someone has a prescription doesn't mean they're not a doper. Look at Michael Jackson.

Seriously, do you know how easy it is for me to go to my physician and get any fuckin designer prescription drug I want? I go to Google, type in a few symptoms, tell him that's what's bugging me, boom I get the prescription.

I get all that, fuck ass. You want to assume that just because he's had problems with drugs in the past, that that's what killed him. Are you the coroner and do have absolute proof, or are you making another typical arm chair diagnosis? The autopsy did not confirm death by drug, but by an enlarged heart and fluid in the lungs. That does not conclusively indicate a drug overdose, cock breath. He could have had a virus. A close friend of my sister had an enlarged heart due to a virus. She almost died too.

I'll go with this since there's 20 years of prior history.

Several cardiovascular complications are closely related to cocaine use. They include chest pain syndromes, heart attacks, strokes, and fatal and nonfatal arrhythmias. Others include

myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle)
endocarditis (inflammation of the inner lining of the heart)
pulmonary edema (eh-DE'mah) (fluid in the lungs)
vascular thrombosis (blood clots in blood vessels)
dilated cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart)

Now go suck a dead dog's dick, jag lips.

With all the doctors getting in trouble for misprescribing medication to celebs (Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson, etc.) you'd think they'd get a bit smarter. What's a dude like Corey Haim getting Oxycontin, Vicodin, etc. for? 4 of these types of scripts from the same doc on the same day... with his history of abuse and stuff. He once bragged of taking 85 or something Vicodins a day. How the hell do you do that and live?

my 75-year-old grandmother has severe osteoporosis and has broken several vertebrae in her back, she could barely walk for 8 months. she was addicted to the pain killers, made a resolution to stop, and she did. she's in a bit of pain, though in much better shape now and in great shape for any 75-year-old regardless of medical condition. if she can get off them, any one can.

So do you have to people who have 1/2 their skin burned off in an accident??? or how about someone who has
colon cancer and has to have 1/2 of his bowel removed?? I would guess not...just saying there are times when
people get addicted and do not intend to.

Dude, it's easy. My doctor gives me Oxycontin and Percocets on the same day, 60 and 120, respectively. The most I ever took was 25, but I was looped. It's a tolerance and I can definitely see Corey building a tolerance. I have a serious knee condition. As for him, I have no clue..I am assuming he lied to his doctors, and made up shit.

Also, who can hate on this guy? He was masterful in License to Drive.

I still remember his performance in Lucas - amazing talent and full of promise. The years of drug abuse didn't help his health, that's for sure, but I believe the drugs started after he was molested. Being a star in Hollywood just made it easier to continue the drug abuse with enablers everywhere as long as his movies made money. He suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and after reading how many drugs he used to do, I can't believe he didn't suffer from liver problems too. He looked like he was on his way to turning his life around - my heart goes out to his mom.

Great point Portland. I personally know a great guy who is now sober for 5+years who was happily married with 2 kids and was diagnosed with colon cancer. He was prescribed Oxycontin and within 2 years he was so hopelessly addicted he lost his job, his wife & kids and was homeless living on a beach in Florida. This guy was not a alcohol or drug abuser prior. I have a relative married with 2 kids who died in his early 30's from a seizure in brought on by his addiction to Oxycontin which were prescribed for PVD in his legs. These people were not intending to go out and get addicted, but that's just how powerful these drugs are.

The smart junkies are all doing it on presecription drugs now prescribed by quacks who's licenses should be revoked.

AMAZING how easy it is now to get the shit that kills you from a doctor and pharmacist.

I have a friend, whose college daughter was acting strange Christmas and passed out. She went into her purse and it was loaded with prescription drugs. She was stunned. She found out it was a local doctor, who is known to be a pill pusher, I guess, and doles out drug prescriptions and people flock to him for their "supply." I won't say what she said to him when she called him. It was a mess to get her daughter off off those pills with rehab, but, finally, they did.

There's no difference. He was a doper and that's what killed him.

Whatever you say Dr. Douchebag.

Hey, asshole, just because someone has a prescription doesn't mean they're not a doper. Look at Michael Jackson.

Time to ease up folks. Reel it in...

No kidding, it's annoying me too ...WTH, SJ did you leave your balls in your other pants?!?! Don't let him talk to you that way!! :D

Am I the only one on the planet who's never heard of Corey Haim? I read this & I thought they were talking about that "sunglasses at night" guy.

Oh well, RIP, bro. That is way too young to die.

I believe he had drugs from 2 different doctors. The toxicology reports will tell the amounts in the next week or 10 days. Did he take enough for suicide or was the enlarged heart and fluid in the longs from prolonged drug use?

Gee, Walmart, what a lovely way to remember Corey. Chuck all his movies in the crap bin.

Good idea though - When i heard this I planned to dig out The Lost Boys, so I think I'll do just that. :)
