Quite a few of the BP gas stations here in the Chicago area are locally and independently owned, we'd only be hurting them if we were to boycott :?

There aren't any BP stations in LA, so my choice is easy. 8)

Look at the little emblem on the bottom of the Arco pump.

The plastic container that your Folgers came in is petroleum-based. Quite possibly from BP sources. Every time you use something plastic, put on make-up, and on & on....you use petroleum based products. You'd have to live like you're living in the 1800s to boycott petroleum. This thread is pointless.

I didn't say I was boycotting petroleum. I know that is impossible. I'm pissed at BP and the only way I have to act on it is to not knowingly buy their products. It's that simple. I know I'm not really accomplishing anything other than venting my ire in this small way.

Well I don't go to Arco either, haha. I don't even think I've ever seen one here, although they do exist.

I understand. You're certainly entitled to do what you think is right. The last half of my post wasn't necessarily directed to you specifically, just towards the original subject in general. Sorry for the confusion.
