One of my favorites from him.
Like so many other country musicians he always brings my Daddy to mind

Yup, another classic.. Here's a clip of Waylon with Johnny Cash--he (W) doesn't even look like the same person  but I love this song:

Nelly Furtado gave an amazing performance on the Grammy's I think it was. No big theatrics, just very sexy. I fell in love with the song and went to buy the album, but the rest of the CD wasn't for me. Not good. But it sold more than 10 million albums. What do I know? But downloaded this song, which I love.

+1  Not a big country fan.....especially old school country. Mind you this local country boy's voice blows me away....just love it. :) Paul Brandt ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TyGR61Kk2g Another one with a fabulous voice is Martina McBride ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQetQVXux8Y she reminds me of a country Pat Benator.

Here's Norah Jones' version of The Wurlitzer Prize:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK3V5jPFLGs&feature=related

What do you all think?

(I love Waylons' since it's: a. Waylon (deep voice, sexy-looking man); a. Norah's is lovely but it is kind of slick, you know?))

Thanks you all (ladies) for commenting on these vids--I didn't think anyone would really care about this style of country which to me has a more rocky sound to it...

P.S. Martina has a beautiful voice; she really needs one of those breakout songs like Faith Hill had to really get noticed...

I think Waylon had a one-of-a-kind voice and I loved hearing him sing. He sometimes reminded me of Don Williams with the smoothness of his voice, but he had a little more edge and just an amazing way with a lyric.

He has the most beautiful epitaph on his marker: it says, "I Am My Beloved's, My Beloved is Mine." I love that.

The Highwaymen are fantastic. Talk about your super group! This is my favorite Highwaymen song, a terrific song written by Jimmy Webb. :D
