Paging Kansas Dave...

Postby S2M » Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:50 am

Just revisited Royal Hunt...With all three singers. I listened to Clown in the Mirror, Fear, Moving Target, Paradox, Paper Blood, and Paradox II: Collision Course.

I have to say I just can't get past the keyboard masturbation....the voices aren't too bad. But the keyboard arpeggios are a poor man's YES....I guess I'm too engrained in hair band music to devote the time to having it grow on me...to each his own I guess...same with Dream Theatre, Porcupine Tree, and Threshold....just doesn't do it for me....I tried. :(

I'm not really a huge fan of any Royal Hunt album with the notable exception of "Paradox". I love every song on that album. There are good songs here and there on other albums but that one tops the others easily, in my opinion. That being said, I do also love the live album "1996" also. Cooper's vocals are a lot better and those versions in general are better than the originals, especially the ones done with their initial lead singer.

BTW...It's Dream TheatER, not Dream TheatRE.
