Awesome article! Thank you for that.

I especially love these words:

Intolerance is a disease, whether sexual, religious or racial, that we all must fight on a daily basis. The cure is for each of us to realize we’re all capable of being just as stupid as Brent Bowers.

Everyone practices intolerance of some kind. EVERYONE.

That don't make it right. And intolerance of brown recluse spiders is vastly different from intolerance of human beings who deserve every right every other human has without them being voted on or manipulated by haters and bigots.

That wasn't the point and I think you're smart enough to know that. Everyone who's ever walked the face of the earth, except for Jesus himself, has some kind of intolerance or hatred in their heart for some group of people. You're not immune to it.

Not true. I have it on good authority that Jesus hates Lady Gaga.

Actually man, I don't judge people. I wasn't raised that way and simply am not inclined that way.

I have my opinions about "conservatives" but those are based on words from "conservatives". Their color doesn't matter, it's their philosophy that I can't stomach, for the most part.

I give everyone a fair chance. I know it's hard to believe, but that's just the way it is.

Federal appeals court put same-sex weddings in Ca, on hold

Postby Since 78 » Tue Aug 17, 2010 10:18 am

SAN FRANCISCO – A federal appeals court put same-sex weddings in California on hold indefinitely Monday while it considers the constitutionality of the state's gay marriage ban.

The decision, issued by a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, trumps a lower court judge's order that would have allowed county clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Wednesday.

Lawyers for the two gay couples that challenged the ban said Monday they would not appeal the panel's decision on the stay to the Supreme Court.

In its two-page order granting the stay, the 9th Circuit agreed to expedite its consideration of the Proposition 8 case. The court plans to hear the case during the week of Dec. 6 after moving up deadlines for both sides to file their written arguments by Nov. 1.

They'll battle on this for a couple of years and then a Federal law will be enacted to legalize same-sex marriage, EQUAL marriage across the United States.

It's all planned out and all that's left to do is guide it through the courts.

Let me get this straight...You NEVER judge people, ever, about anything?

My weakness in this area is with wealthy people. I admit that when I see someone driving a really nice car or someone with a large, expensive home, I make a judgment about them. It's not right and I often catch myself doing it. It's because I live in one of the wealthiest counties in the country (Hamilton County, Indiana). I see snobs all the time and have heard stories about people in wealthy neighborhoods complaining about "lesser" people being allowed into their communities. It disgusts me but it doesn't give me the moral right to make a judgment about someone who happens to have a lot more money than I do.

That being said, everyone has their poison in this area. If you hang around someone long enough, it'll come out alright. It's just a matter of time.

Here’s what I do and I try to do it every day. I try to give the benefit of the doubt. I can honestly say cars or wealth mean nothing to me, having grown up poor, (wait) having grown up with very little money, my family was rich in many ways, just not monetarily, so material crap never meant anything to me. Both my parents are the same way. They simply don’t care what someone has or doesn’t have. I treat my doctor friends exactly the way I treat my server friends. Everyone is equal until they give me reason not to think they are. Then I just go off on ‘em and try not to let it ruin my day. I never begrudge anyone anything. Now of course I make fun of the people who have new found wealth and try to rub it in everyone’s face, but that’s not judging them, it’s just giving ‘em hell. We have a couple of friends who bought a new Mercedes a while back. Another friend admired the car and the owner of the car said, “it’s just a Camry with a hood ornament”. So, I said, “well, why didn’t you buy the Camry and save 30,000 dollars?”. LOL But again, those people are really great people, they just put a lot of stock into material crap.

Found this on FB - at the end it says "Re-post this if you believe love makes a marriage." So true.

I love this... "10 reasons why Gay Marriage is wrong"...
a total smack in the face to all the dumb, er.. I mean "questionable" ( ) reasons people come up with against it:

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08 ) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Re-post this if you believe love makes a marriage.

I think everyone has their judgments - mine being fat people and the nouveaux riches. Fat people because they're selfish and stupid enough to hurt themself and the society later on. Nouveaux riches because they're vulgar, uncultured and completely lack finesse. More and more good establishments have lost all their value because of a nouveau riche infestation. Take Marbella or St. Tropez for example.

What's not cool is judging gay people for being gay - that's just wrong, as that's nothing one can decide.
