No, it's not that easy...getting in shape isn't always the answer. Physical ability should always be eval'd first, because there might always be some serious problems that only your Doc can help you understand & fix. However, tuning-up the bod with a little sweat, even going so far as to get back into 'fighting shape', will do wonders. Bank on it.
Having been once diagnosed as pre-diabetic, over-stressed, and on the verge of heart problems, I will say that purging & building lean body mass has made all the difference.
The 20s didn't matter. The 30s were fun. But the 40s took their toll. The closer I get to 50 makes me want to live longer & healthier...and still be able to party. You gotta build up more than you tear down. It only gets harder the older we get.
