I need a beer RIGHT NOW! Already 100° in Burbank. Somebody zap me an ice cold Guinness, please. Send it in an unmarked pint, as I'm at work.

It's supposed to creep up to 109° and then start to settle down the rest of the week. We had a mild summer, one of the coolest on record, so I guess I shouldn't bitch. This should be the last hot spell, I'm hoping. We don't need hot temps with Autumn winds, the ground has recovered from the last fires we had.

I miss those days in the service when you could have two beers for lunch.

It used to be (Overseas anyway) that the dayshift was allowed two beers for lunch. I don't know know if that was just an Air Force thing or not but nothing beat going to the Airman's club at Clark, RP and throwing down some brews with lunch while watching the Filipina dancers (they weren't allowed to take off their bikinis at the base clubs but it was good enough since we were on duty anyway). Definitely a third world environment ON and off base back then.

I remember Steam & Creams in Korea. It was tolerated by the base C/Os for decades until I guess some Base Chaplain in Song Tan got all bent out of shape over it.

Oh yeah. God what a shit hole country back then; open sewage, mean ass people who never smiled , cold as hell in the winter and humid as hell in the summer.

Lying ass weatherman, it's up to 115° now.
