Why because the meaning of the word fart is more the expulsion of gas. The meaning of fart also encapsulates that little smile that sneaks across your face when you know youve dropped your guts , the disgust on the face of the folks around you. A fart is only a fart if happens in a crowded church, mall , or movie theatre. If it happens in the forest, it is a mere nameless biological occurance.
