Can't believe the myth of this album still exists. There is NO third album or even set of demos....it's all JohN Waite solo demos. Only a few Bad English related tunes.

Well I've got it, and it sounds like Bad English to me. Guess I was told wrong, but it sounds like them just the same. :D

Every collector out there has it. I have it in CD quality....it ain't Bad English. Cain and Waite have both confirmed this with me. Maybe 1 or 2 tracks at most...

Isn't this is a BonJovi song?

Nope....it is an Aldo Nova song. The 2 ARE friends though. They collaborate alot, of have in the past....Jon has been known for thievery in the past....Runaway/Fantasy....
Jon cowrote this entire album, and it was produced on his label ...if that's what he meant...

I believe he even sang backup...

Not so much an unreleased ablum, but Europe's Prisoner's in Paradise album around 1991 was released with many different songs than originally planned. They had so many songs that they thought about doing a double album, but Sony did not like the record they delivered saying it didn't fit their image or sound of what the band was from a commercial sense, not the heavier sound you hear live. It was also supposedly the bands attempt to get back to their heavier sound, which had been all but squashed on the very good, but grossly over producted "Out of This World" album, that sounded much more pop-rock. So, they delayed the release and told Joey Tempest to write some more ballads and work with some co-writers... "LeBaron Boys" is the double demo set of most, if not all, the tracks that eventually made and didn't make the final release, and the 2CD idea was scrapped by Sony, or so is the rumor. There are some very good songs on the demo recordings that could easily have replaced some of the weaker tracks on the final release. Some have been released over the years on special collection CD's or Japanese versions.

Damn, thanks for the info! I'll have to do some digging here, as I'm a huge Europe fan. :D

Most of the songs were co written with BonJovi they recorded this album at his studio. I knew the keyboard player and bassist on the album. While recording this the KB player also played keys for Bon Jovi's contribution of Levon to the CD Two Rooms tribute to Bernie Taupin and Elton John

I would love to hear the Boston stuff, especially if Delp's vocals are on it.

Ask, and ye shall receive....lol

Now that I listened to them, I realized I had heard them before and fortunately forgotten. Even the tunes that never made it on an album blow.

I found this article on that same website pretty interesting.

'King of Kindness' Delp prodded Maine guitarist
Friday, September 10, 2010

September 10, 2010
By Nate Dow
Boston Herald

It's easy to understand why Mark "Guitar" Miller gets choked up when he talks about Brad Delp. A legendary guitarist in Maine, Miller had become best friends with the former lead singer of the band Boston. Delp even served as best man at Miller's wedding.

Since meeting in 1980, Miller and Delp often performed together. They also contributed to each other's solo projects. But, just as Delp's 2007 suicide left so much musical promise unfulfilled, all of those recordings remained under wraps.

Now, after several delays caused by financial problems and heartache from Delp's death, Miller has finally released "Whatcha Gonna Do," the solo CD he made with "special guest" Brad Delp.

Miller said it was Delp who urged him to resume working on the album, which he started recording in a Hollywood, Calif., studio in 2000 but abandoned due to lack of funding.

"Brad kept saying, ‘You should finish it, you need to finish it,' " Miller said from his home in northern Maine. "I asked him to sing on it, so he came up to Maine twice - drove his Volkswagen up here. When he heard the song ‘Nothin' But The Blues,' he said, ‘Can I sing on that one?' And so he did. He ended up singing background on some others. But if it wasn't for him pushing me, I might never have finished it."

Miller, 60, is a Down East blues guitar legend who's been playing professionally since he was a teenager. But "Whatcha Gonna Do!" is just his third full album in a career of more than 45 years. Love for his home state, dedication to his family and a run of bad luck with record deals has kept Miller chiefly in Maine. Delp, Miller said, recognized that he was deserving of more notoriety and wanted to lend his name to the project.

"Brad wanted to be on it because he wanted me to get stories in places like the Boston Herald," Miller said while recalling the man he calls "the King of Kindness."

"I wanted him because of his voice," he said. "His voice had a quality about it, a tone that was recognizable and original, just a great-sounding voice, one of the greatest in the world. But the friendship was way more important to me than the music. I think that showed in the way Brad wanted to help me."

It was during an ill-fated stint in Austin, Texas, where Miller developed pneumonia, that he heard the news of Delp's death.

"I cried all day," he said.

When funding to complete "Whatcha Gonna Do!" finally came through in 2008, Miller was too emotionally overwrought to release it.

"It was tough," he said. "I definitely didn't want to put it out in the first year after (Delp) passed away. But finally I called (Delp's ex-wife) Micki and asked her if was OK to have Brad's name on the cover, because it was obvious he wanted to help me and he would've OK'd that."

Miller got permission, for which he feels grateful to Delp's family. He said he feels some peace and closure with the release of the CD. But there is still unfinished music business. He can't understand why the Delp solo recordings he played on, some dating back more than 20 years ago, remain unreleased.

"I don't know why," Miller said. "The recordings are done, and it would be really cool to have it released for all of us - and for Brad. He did some really great stuff on it. But that's up to Brad's family. I am just thrilled that he is on my CD."

MAN, what a kick-ass album! Thanks for posting this Brandon. :D

Glad you dug Jimbo...Smokin' version of Chicago's "Feelin' Stronger Everyday" huh? Speaking of the aptly titled "Ride the Storm", I had a shit ball flight experience facing some head winds on a flight from Arizona back to Sacramento yesterday...I don't think I'd classify it as Turbulence, more like "Cast Away" weather....the captain quipped towards the end of the flight "For those of you who enjoyed the flight we thank you for flying Southwest...For those of you who did not enjoy the flight, we thank you for flying United..."

Was listening to this album all the way there. One of favorite albums period.

That's an awesome album that I'm gonna have to pick up! I've been there with the plane thing. I flew through a storm when I was 12 or 13, and it was like something out of the movies... The luggage compartments opened up, we'd drop 20-30 feet in a second, shit was flying everywhere, (I think the air masks popped out, but I'm not sure) and I was scared to death!!! Of course we made it through fine, but I think I probably shit my pants (along with our stewardess)!  I can't believe that I'm not afraid to fly after going through that, but it doesn't scare me.

LOL aka "Get busy living or get busy dyin' '"

Where are you going to pick it up? I had to record it directly off the stream from that website and it sounds pretty damn good to my ears. I have another 'demo' version of the album too..unfortunately, the quality of the "Demo's" is subpar compared to the link above (it was a tape of a tape), however in a few cases the demo versions are better... Ping me for a copy of both.

cheers.

G.I.Jim wrote:I've just been sitting here thinking about this tonight, and I wonder... Chicago just released "Stone of Sisyphus" last year, which they recorded (I think in '94). Mr Mister is getting ready to release "Pull" which they recorded in '89, and it was never released. Bad English recorded "The Lost Tapes (unofficial title)", and it's never been released. Many of these bands had entire albums recorded in the late 80's/early 90's, and the record labels dropped them like they were hot potatoes so that they could sign grunge acts.

It just makes me wonder how many other albums were shelved after they were recorded, that we've never even heard? Anyone know of any others?

Mr mister Go On is better but pull has some very good stuff on it

Danger dangers cockroach is by far the best release from all that was mentioned in this thread (It's by far Danger dangers best cd)
