New Eric Johnson Album/1984 Austin City Limits CD/DVD

Any Eric Johnson fans? Right on his new album every five or so years schedule, EJ is releasing his new latest studio album, "Up Close," on Dec. 7. The album features special guests including Steve Miller, Jimmie Vaughan, Jonny Lang, and Sonny Landreth.

Also, recently there was a release of an performance by Eric on "Austin City Limits" in 1984. It's a CD/DVD digipak set featuring Eric's first appearance on the show and features early versions of songs from his first album ("Tones") and "Cliffs Of Dover," as well as an acoustic set.

Big fan here- definately looking forward to the 7th. I read an interview with him recently and he said that he let go a bit and didn't try to get everything perfect as in the past- should be a really great CD.

Agreed. Yes, he has definitely conveyed that he was less meticulous in the studio this time around. Of course, with Eric it's all relative...he's an amazing musician.
