WTF are you talking about?

VH opened for Journey in what, 1978? Mopped the floor? Are you fucking insane? VH had just released their first album and was just starting to get known. Hell Montrose was on the bill too.

I am quite rehearsed in this, thank you. I SAW that tour dude. Yes VH was on it's maiden tour, and they DID clean Journey's clock. Hell, didn't you read Herbie's interview with Schon when they both came out to watch Eddie and Schon was blown away. Sorry, but VH's first album was muich better than Infinity...rocked harder, had better sound and more hooks too. That wasn't even close...I went there as a big Journey fan, but the next day I was listening to VH. So, I don't see your point here. I made a factual statement about VH and Journey touring together. Where is the falsity in that?

I saw the tour as well...at least when I saw them Journey killed...by a wide margin...Montrose was cool too...and EVH was nuts on guitar...but no how no way VH killed Journey.

Dude, you are in the minority. There was a big rumor at the time, remember there was no internet back then, that the sound guys(Journey ran the sound for both bands), that they deliberately fucked up VH's sound, be it turning it down, distorting it, whatever. There is a reason why there is bad blood between the two bands.

Styx for 85 minutes and Journey for 105 minutes. That'd be a good set.

Deen Says it won't be Foreigner or Styx (He won't or can't divulge who the openers will be yet, just says it won't be either of those two).

Hmmm, maybe Dan might not be too far off with his original post. :P  I see MB is playing Japan in April and then they can finish off Europe, etc., the first half of the year and come back to tour with Journey for the second half! :D Works for me!

Maybe. I just don't get the whole Mr Big thing here....NO Journey fans are going to know jack shit about Mr Big. They need a band who is a lot better known, say, Chicago, or even Eddie Money or some shit like that. Mr. Big? People know ONE song, maybe one song.....I would think that is an awful pairing if I am Journey Mgt.

Mr. Big are way better known than you give them credit for Dean, but I agree that it would be a mis-match. MB are not a classic rock band in the same vein as Styx/Foreigner/Kansas etc.. They are more contemporary than that and will likely tour on their own.

That's because Neal knows Journey can't pack 'em in like they used to....they need a 2nd, or 3rd supporting group to raise the gate....is Eden's Curse available?

Dean's right Drew. I was a teenager in the 80's and was big into music, and that stupid "To Be With You" is the only song I ever heard of. Hated it too! They just never hit here in America outside that song.

Andrew, I am NOT putting Mr Big down at all. Fine band. However, as you said, that's not happening. Now color me biased, but I just looked at Bryan Adams schedule, and he is through with India tour in mid February with his real band. The more I see this, the more likely I think that these two are going to hook up. Of course Adams will open in America, but for the love of God, I wouldn't want to be Journey following that act. Adams' band is as good in every position if not better than Journey.

Who else could it be? Every other band I can think of has already done the Journey tour thing.....unless God forbid it's REO  If that's the case, I can tell you right now every critic will eat this tour alive. Same old same old.......I really think an Adams tour would be in Journey's best interest(except following him on stage).

Andrew, call up Bruce Allen and ask him what the plans are for BA after the Indian tour in February....It's either, 1) More Bare Bones touring, 2), Hiatus, or 3) co touring with an American classic rock band.

They are one of my favourite ever bands and I hate that song too. Some peg them as a one hit wonder, but they ARE better known than some give credit for. They are primarily a musicians band. Those guys are all insane players.

And they are huge in Japan/Asia - like massive stadiums for multiple dates....

Even better! :D On second thought you're probably right about it being a mis-match. MB is more contemporary and hard rock than Journey. LOL I think at this point I just want them out there playing in North America and didn't care if I had to sit through another band to get it.
