Just because Tampa has a reasonable hockey team doesn't make them a hockey hotbed. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. When it comes to professional sports, Florida is a fucking abomination when it comes to their fans. That's my opinion, and it will never change. Too many transient people who have zero connection to where they live, beyond the sun and warm temperatures. I've met more native Floridians outside of Florida than I ever met in Florida. In spite of your assertion that my comments are "dumbass", I never said anything regarding your beloved Tampa Bay Lightning. I simply said Florida blows when it comes to supporting their teams, and the attendance proves it. Hell, the Rays couldn't fill half their freakin' (complete horror show) of a "stadium", even when they had a VERY competitive team over the past couple of years.
I agree, to a point. I'm a Floridian by birth and have made this state my home. Growing up in a place where for the most part the winters are mild, since nothing froze over, I didn't play hockey nor even fucking remotely cared about learning it. How many americans actually play the sport anyhow? Anytime your watching ESPN all the names your reading you can hardly pronounce, let alone trying to identify with the players. Seems most of the players are from sweden, russia, the czech republic and for all I know the fucking north pole. When Florida got the Panthers, I could give a shit less and have never been to a hockey game and never will. There are far to many things to do in Florida, unlike the northeast. We have the Beaches, the Keys, we have springs, nice weather 95% of the time, we have many other attractions other than Disney such as Busch Gardens, Seaworld, Universal, not to mention fine women every fucking where you go! I support my teams wholeheartedly. I'm use to the Dolphins sucking donkey dicks and my beloved gators fell this year. What hurts the Tampa bay Rays is their fucking stadium is actually in St. Petersburg. Even if you live in Tampa, it's an 1and a half hour drive with all the fucking congestion in that area created by the old fuckers who can't see to drive. I know the northeast is big on professional sports for the simple reason your college teams suck ass except in basketball, but who cares about that right? NE is lucky to have Tom Brady. I will enjoy watching him while he plays and will miss him when he retires.
