Schon talked crap about a "rockin" cd and it turned out to be an adult contemporary turd my grandma would enjoy listening to. Her and light in the loafers key players (sorry Jim). In all seriousness Dean, you are way off the mark here. Go back and read Mac's view of Hugo's self released cd as what Journey should have released with TBF. Hugo continues to write better material than Journey has since ROR and arguably since Frontiers. You need to back away from the beer bong, have the boy bring you a pair of pepsi's instead of beers, and give Hugo's music a fair listen on it's own merits. Opinions are like assholes and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you are WAY under estimating Hugo's talent and capabilty. You can't deny the overdriven rock guitar tone on "Time on Earth". It's not super sofisticated guitar playing but it rocks WAY harder than anything Schon has done in decades.
Same goes for Ramos BTW. Ramos may fall within Schon's shadow, but he's a HELL of a guitarist. I'd put him head to head with Schon anytime. And he's taller than a kitchen sink, unlike Fro.
I really do like TBF. Also, can you count how many times Schon has said we have a rocker coming, and it doesn't um, rock? He always says that.
As for your Ramos take, I agree 100%. And I also agree and laughed out loud(you asshole) about Schon not being able to see over the kitchen sink to turn the faucet on.
And there is no way I am A) drinking Pepsi and B) backing away from the beer bong, but thanks for your concern.
PS- That's actually my daughter 19 years ago, not my son.
