Exactly. With the exception that Dilfer didn't even suck as bad as Ben did and Dilfer was an AWFUL QB!

Ben isn't EVER going to throw up the numbers Brady or Manning do, but you have to admit he has a knack for making big plays when the Steelers need it. And his performance in his last Super Bowl was pretty damn good.

RossValoryRocks wrote:You use of Rapelisberger tells me you aren't being objective, which is unusual for you when you don't have a dog in the fight. He was (is?) a pretty dispicable human being, but there is not denying that he is trying to change the kind of person he was to something better. In many ways that is a far more compelling story than Aaron Rogers stepping out of Brett Favre's shadow.

A couple of points. First and foremost, I consider myself to be a VERY objective sports fan. I make zero secret about the fact that I have zero desire to see the Steelers win. That said, I certainly have acknowledged that they are a good team (and I don't think they're great, at all) and an exceptionally well run organization (one of the best in all of sports and always have been). As for Ben...anything he does on a football field doesn't change what he did to the women he did that to. I know many people believe that to be the case, but I'm not someone who has ever bought into that notion. I promise you that if Ben wins his third ring tonight, the women he sexually assaulted aren't all of a sudden going to think that Ben is the greatest guy ever and that by winning a football game, he has somehow made what he did go away. Life simply doesn't work that way, and shouldn't!

John, the $1000 question tonight is: Are you going to disappear from the board for six months again after tonight and then reappear for the next NFL season assuming no lockout?

Tom Brady unanimous as NFL MVP

DALLAS -- Here's a Brady Bunch for NFL fans: Tom Brady got all 50 votes for MVP.

The New England Patriots quarterback on Sunday became the first unanimous choice for The Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Award since the AP began using a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league.

He surpassed himself, too: In 2007, when Brady won his first MVP, he got 49 votes; one voter went for Brett Favre.

"It is always flattering to be chosen for such a prestigious award," Brady said. "But I also look at it as a team award, as nothing in football gets accomplished without the mental toughness and determination of every player and coach associated with that team.

"I am very humbled to be a part of an organization where winning comes first, and our goals are based around the success of the team."

Those successes, including three Super Bowl titles in the last 10 years, are in great part due to Brady's excellence.

The interesting thing about this story is that Brady is the first guy EVER to win the award unanimously. The season he threw 50 TD's and went undefeated, he only received 49 out of 50 votes. I didn't think it was possible for ANYONE to win this award unanimously after Brady didn't get every vote that season.

I guess GO PACK GO gets the last word... :-) for a life long fan this is as sweet as the win 14 years ago... and even a little better, in that the Packers won so quick post Favre... I was gone over the weekend and missed the game...

saw highlights... what a thriller... ;-) and when I saw a report 31-25 and Pittsburg with the ball at the end... I thought oh oh... so what a relief to know that the Packers could finish...looks like this could be a great future... if the NFL has one... I have the game taped in its entirety... so will look forward to watching it when I have time...
