That was awesome! Looked like something out of a Tim Burton movie.

That was freaking retarded! At least he sings better in his true baritone voice, but that was terrible. :?

Are you on freaking glue, Jimbo? :? He's singing as Mephistopheles (devil). Can you elaborate what you found so terrible/retarded about it? Or do you just not get it?

I get that he's acting out a role, but I just don't like this sort of show. I like some of TSO's songs, but this is basically just like being at a play. I don't care for it at all. I know you and several others here probably like it, and that's cool. It's definitely not my cup of tea at all!

It's a rock opera, Jimbo! I love it, but I love all types
of music ...as long as I connect w/the vox!!

This kinda makes you want to go straight to hell, though!!

Eh, I just don't get all the idol worship for him in TSO...he barely sings 3 songs....and when he's out in the backing vocal line - he looks like the tall awkward kid at a wedding....and people follow him around the country? He is talented. I enjoy Eyes, and W.E.T., but TSO isn't something I could watch year in, year out..so there! :P

I have never even heard of TSO.

I love Jeff's voice and I really loved that clip! He sings that style SO well! I don't think I've ever heard his voice that deep before!

Yes it IS like a song from a Tim Burton movie! Very Nightmare Before Christmas!

What fun! Imagine if that were a full Musical Theatre production! He would be amazing as the Devil!

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

What you mean to say is that it sounds like a Danny Elfman song....he does soundtracks for a lot of people, not just Tim Burton.

I've heard his name but I'll have to look up his work. I recently watched *Sweeney Todd and Jeff's song reminded me of it. Very similar sound.

*Edit: Sweeney Todd-music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, not Danny Elfman. Same style though.

I didn't even know that TSO did productions like this. The only time they play here is at Christmas time.

TSO started running the Spring production of "Beethoven's Last Night", last year in the US. This year they have expanded it to include parts of Europe and the US. The Europe run is in it's finally days, but the US run starts April 2nd through the end of May. It is totally different from the Christmas production. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it is a brilliant production with world class musicianship combined with awesome visuals including their signature lasers & pyro. Something to experience firsthand at least once. The videos don't do it justice!

Just read up on TSO's site...interesting concept. Wish I could see it now...doesn't look like they are out this way. It sounds like stuff I love...Phantom of the Opera, Royal Hunt, Amadeus.

PBS has been running a TSO special this month called "The Birth of Rock Opera". You may want to check your local PBS listings to see if it is still airing in your area.

Elman/Burton do a ton of work together. They even have a box-set of soundtracks. "Nightmare Before Christmas" is probably my favorite....and Danny Elfman does Jack's singing. He does Mr. Bonejangles in Corpse Bride...also one of my favorites:
