Wouldn't it be a more interesting thread to post your version than the original?

Would love to hear that cover...

The last cover band I played with was in '09, and we had 4 one hour sets, not sure if I have the entire catalog on hand (lots of southern rock and late 70's early 80's music), but here's a couple of tracks we had recorded during Arizona Bike week in June of '09

Hotel California - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou-KiLITY7M

The Boys Are Back in Town - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPP3Y1jDvS0

Carry on - (Kansas) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Baka5260fSs

Rosanna (just the end, where I took a solo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPD7UMB4Bl4)

A lot of Pink Floyd ! We are playing 1500-2000 seaters at the moment !! Took us 4 years to get to theaters from clubs. Here are some clips that fans caught. This was the only way I have been able to see the show myself even though I play the damn drums and sing backups ! The pro vid and audio is still being mixed.

Wish you were here live at the Brown theater. CHeck out the backing video. Our video people kicked ass on it and had people crying at the end !!!

Hey, all....

It's about 20 mins to 3PM; I got up at 2.....worked all day yesterday & didn't get home until after 2AM. :x

Well, TRAG played "Subdivisions" for the first time last night at a Show.....gotta say, I was SHAKING IN MY BOOTS and my hands were shaking so much I missed a few...um...things...

We played at a Pool Hall that has a Stage / Audience area.....I was so focused on trying to sing & play this song that I didn't DARE look up at the people. So, when we finished, I looked over to my right at the Pool Hall area....

....and there were about 12 guys standing there, looking like this:

I guess we pulled it off. 8) \~/

Back in '84 I was in a band in Reno called REPLICA. Our gimmick was every song we covered, we sounded EXACTLY like the original. Doing that in a studio setting with perfect conditions and a perfect environment isn't terribly difficult provided the musicians have the ability to deliver their portion of the song precisely as it was recorded. We were doing it live in casino bars, 4 nights a week! There were 11 people in the band including the horn section and the backup trio who took care of the backing harmonies and various percussion duties. We had a fairly healthy catalog and I must admit, we were exactly what our name touted. Getting that good on any song added to the list was no easy task and certainly no small affair getting it added to the list of songs to be considered let alone getting into rotation. The people I played with in that band were the most professional and the most dedicated amateur musicians I've ever had the privilege of performing with both then and now.

Unfortunately, technology wasn't as plentiful and diverse as it is now so there is no video of a single performance in existence. I played with them for just over a year before I took a job in Colorado. I really wish some audio and/or video did exist today. It would be cool to look back and reminisce.
