Mystery Track from Front Page

Postby S2M » Wed Apr 20, 2011 3:34 am

...not that any of you actually read the front page....

I recognize the voice. I just can't put my finger on it...

Anyway, song started out strong...nice verse. Pre-chorus has that nice AOR build up....then - falls flat. It regresses into that modern AOR-sounding flat chorus that goes nowhere. Where's the power? I wanted to like it. :?

I don't think the chorus is quite as bad as you make it out to be, but that 3rd line with the title is forcing things a bit unnaturally. That said, a couple of arrangement changes and you are very close to modern country. I have always thought AOR is one of the harder genres to write, as it either works brilliantly, or is just simply boring, with very little in between.

No idea on the singer--certainly not someone I have in my collection. Similar tone to Dave Bickler in the lower ranges, but it's definitely not him. I can tell you who it isn't, but not who it is.

"Well respected" rules out Nostrildamus. Oh, and so does someone actually singing.

I generally share your thoughts Sean. Good music and nice production, but the chorus was just a letdown. Nothing that really gave me that "DAMN!" feeling I get when I hear a really catchy AOR song for the first time.
