Is anybody here familiar with LinkedIn?

Postby ebake02 » Wed May 04, 2011 11:37 am

I'm wondering if it would be worth my time from a job hunting and career perspective.

I'm on it for the sake of business, but I don't actually see it doing much else than bugger all.

LinkedIn certainly wont' hurt. Most Career Counselors suggest that you post your resume there and offer information on how to make the best use of it. Personally, I know of several people that have received job inquiries based on their LinkedIn profile.

Good Luck!

Yes absolutely. My company provides consulancy solutions to other companies across the World, and I estimate we do 75 % of our hiring of consultants off LinkedIn now. Get yourself on it, get a good profile written, and get a few other Linkedin users to write you recommedations. Then try to connect with recruiters who hang out on there.

Dont expect to go there for fun though- Its just like melodic rock forum wthout the jokes , fun , banter , and really useful information

Thanks guys!! I'm graduating this fall (again) and I was thinking that linkedin might be a good place for job hunting. I figured if I started looking around now I would have a better chance of finding something good.
