There is a local guitarist/singer/songwriter who used to have a band called 88 rewind. They were THE most popular 80's band around here, and played for 4 or 5 years in all the clubs. They were an incredible band with an awesome following. They always drew great crowds.
He called me up today and it looks like he and I have a lot of the same influences and music Ideas. I just think it's awesome and had to share the news with you! I thought I was the only person here in Columbia that is interested in playing 80's. We're talking about doing the more "Pop" stuff, like Duran Duran, INXS, etc... I think there's a huge market for it, and can't wait to get together and jam. I guess we'll see how it goes, and I'll keep you posted.
Gotta watch out, it could be a Craigslist stalker..............Maybe it's Deano!![]()

I've never clicked or jammed with any other guitarist that likes the music this guy does! Most guitarists want to play Van Halen, Whitesnake, etc. I LOVE those songs too, but they aren't party or dance type songs. When I played in my last 80's band, we played all that, along with the 80's hair band stuff. The songs are awesome, but the crowd just sits there and watches you. It's not a "get your asses out of your seat and dance" kind of set list.
I just got an email from the guitarist with some song suggestions that are freaking AWESOME!!! This list has great variety, and would appeal to a LOT of people. Check this list out...
