There is a local guitarist/singer/songwriter who used to have a band called 88 rewind. They were THE most popular 80's band around here, and played for 4 or 5 years in all the clubs. They were an incredible band with an awesome following. They always drew great crowds.

He called me up today and it looks like he and I have a lot of the same influences and music Ideas. I just think it's awesome and had to share the news with you! I thought I was the only person here in Columbia that is interested in playing 80's. We're talking about doing the more "Pop" stuff, like Duran Duran, INXS, etc... I think there's a huge market for it, and can't wait to get together and jam. I guess we'll see how it goes, and I'll keep you posted. :D

Gotta watch out, it could be a Craigslist stalker..............Maybe it's Deano!

No, Deano has my number. He'd just text me a pic of an epic turd of the day if he wanted to reach me.

Been chatting with the guitarist, and he's bringing a guitarist over wednesday night to jam on a few songs. I've never clicked or jammed with any other guitarist that likes the music this guy does! :D Most guitarists want to play Van Halen, Whitesnake, etc. I LOVE those songs too, but they aren't party or dance type songs. When I played in my last 80's band, we played all that, along with the 80's hair band stuff. The songs are awesome, but the crowd just sits there and watches you. It's not a "get your asses out of your seat and dance" kind of set list.

I just got an email from the guitarist with some song suggestions that are freaking AWESOME!!! This list has great variety, and would appeal to a LOT of people. Check this list out...

Everybody Wants To Rule The World- Tears For Fears
Everybody Have Fun Tonight- Wang Chung
Don't You Forget About Me- Simple Minds
Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone- Glass Tiger
Overkill- Men At Work
She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
Billie Jean – Michael Jackson 1982
SuperFreak – Rick James 1981
What I like about you – Romantics 1980
Burning Down the House – Talking Heads 1983
Whip It – Devo 1980
White Wedding – Billy Idol 1982
Crazy Train – Ozzy Ozborne 1980
Panama – Van Halen 1984
Tom Sawyer – Rush 1981
Turning Japanese - The Vapors 1980
Message in a Bottle – The Police 1980
Just What I needed – The Cars 1980
I melt with you – Modern English 1982
New Year's Day – U2 1983
Enjoy the Silence – Depeche Mode 1989
Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode
Halo - Depeche Mode
Just Like Heaven – The Cure 1987
867-5309 – Tommy Tutone 1982
Working for the Weekend – Loverboy 1981
Stray Cat Strut – Stray Cats – 1982
The One Thing - INXS
Don't Change - INXS
Driver 8 - REM
A Million Miles Away - The Plimsouls

I think Tommy and Trav (YoungJrny) use the same faulty webcams, keeps cutting the bottom of their faces off. For the longest time I thought Trav's AV was just a pic of a ballcap (at a quick glance) until I really looked at it one time and saw eyes under it, freaked me out!
