CD bitrate question....

Postby S2M » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:59 am

Is it possible to rip a CD onto a computer with the same quality as the original CD? I apologize if this has been asked and answered already....also, I guess is it compressed by itunes if you put it on an iPod...?

Just rip it as a WAV, no compression at all. To save a little space you can rip as Flac but that takes a bit more processor power when you play it as it uncompresses it on the fly. What's a CD, 700mb? Just go with WAV.

Isn't the bit rate on a CD like 1477, vs. 320 for the best MP3s?
