A separate thread idea may be, What band have you NOT seen that you have always wanted to?

First one that came to mind was INXS w/ Hutch. Would love to have seen the original INXS live. Hutch was a helluva frontman!

Wow...doesn't anyone go see Heart?

Seen them a few times. Still blown away every time. How can someone sing that powerful for that long? Amazing.

I can't remember all. But a lot of it matches stuff above. My faves are Journey (with Perry), Melissa Etheridge, Kenny Loggins, Iron Maiden... I realize I may have to sit all night if I list them.

I also have to say - some of the best moments are the friends you see or the car-rides to and from. Especially in the younger years. For 70% of the concerts I've been to, those are the parts I remember.

Regrets - I never saw Queen. I haven't yet seen the Eagles and at their prices - fuck em. I also had tickets to see Ricky Nelson when he died. That would have been a fun show.

Highlights - Talking to Steve Smith after a couple different shows. High-fiving Kenny Loggins after a particular song that affected me deeply and getting to talk to him about it after the show. Watching Steve Perry do his sound check before the first solo show. and there are many more.

Absolute best thing of all my post-1983 shows - seeing my sweet and wonderful friend Lora Beard at the few shows I go to now.

Oh yeah! Duh........Saw Heart and Cheap Trick with Journey in 2008! Thanks for the reminder!

Shit, I've been to at least 250 major concerts since I saw Bryan Adams and Journey in '81. Who haven't I seen is the better question. You name the 80's melodic rock band, I have a stub.

Ditto. The list would be so long and so inclusive that anyone reading it would think I was lying. I've seen every major act (Rock, Country, Metal, 80's "New Wave"...) since my first concert.... ABBA! I was 12 or 13 and was the correct caller number at the local radio station and won 3rd row tickets. It's a shame I had no perspective as to just how good they were in concert that night. It took seeing many other bands over the years to fully appreciate just how incredibly polished and tight they were. Very few of the 200 some odd shows I've attended come close to the performance of bands like ABBA, Heart, YES, Dream Theater, RUSH, and so on.

Who the fuck is Cats cant fly? Sass Jordan? Jann Arden? Platinum Blonde? Jeffery Doucette? Doug & the slugs? Blue Rodeo? Chiliwack? Amanda Marshall? Apache Indian? Headpins? 54-40? Do these bands even qualify? Hell, I don't even know who the fuck is Prism, but they sound like a band so I'll give you that one.

I'm pretty sure I saw Sass Jordan open for Mellenhead quite few years ago. Is that possible?

Music is music. Even if it is not your cup of tea, it may be someone else's. I personally have not been to a lot of concerts as some of you have. I don't have that kind of money. I would have liked to have heard Sass Jordan. I hear she can sing.
