Harmony Remotes

Postby Memorex » Fri Aug 19, 2011 12:37 pm

I gotta say, in these trying times where nothing seems right, thank God for my Harmony remote by Logitech. I've had two models now and it's been completely flawless. I just got a new blu ray player and a surround sound system and within minutes, my one remote is handling it all. Makes me feel like there is hope out there.

The Harmony remotes are SUPERB! I have a Harmony 900 in the family room and the Harmony 1100 in the home theater. I still remember the old Phillips Pronto remotes. They had a decent project, but they were WAY too complicated to program. Logitech adopted the iPod simplicity approach with their Harmony line, and there is simply no reason not to own one...or two.

You can get the refurbished. There are several models. I spent 60 for my first one and 100 for my second. I'm the type that would say wtf to a price like that for a remote. But totally worth it. They are so simple and they have virtually every device available.

For those who don't know, these remotes make it so you can push a button for an activity, such as Watch DVD, and it will turn on the required devices, turn off those not needed, set the sound for the right device, Set the tv input to the ri gut device, etc. You have to set up what you want, but the wizard guides you through and knows what questions to ask based in the devices. Very cool.
