Journey records

I'm thinking of selling my old Journey records. I have a few semi-uncommon ones that I will keep. But the ordinary ones like Infinity, Evolution, Departure, Escape, Frontiers and Raised On Radio I might sell?

There's a music store near me that would probably offer me about a dollar a piece for them? But if that's all that they would offer (They might even offer 2 dollars a piece?) then I might just hold on to them.

What is the likely-hood of me being able to get more than a dollar or 2 a record for those on something like ebay? Like I said, their just the ordinary records. The records themselves are in excellent condition, no skips, sticks or major pops or crackles, the covers are in good shape, but not mint.

I would never sell out my great collection, especially for that cheap. I'm having my Fisher 400c receiver restored, just so I can go back and listen to some of my old Vinyl.

I remember the day I went over my buds house... he'd just gotten the new Boston album... popped it on the turntable... turned on the Pioneer SX-950, cranked it up.. and a bunch of us just sat there on the living room floor...

.. in awe...

My respect for you just went up several notches. I'm a vintage stereo nut and a big time audiophile in general. In addition to the normal everyday computer related shit my computer business handles, (repairs, upgrades, networking, etc.) we also offer home theater services, configuration, and installation which is my favorite part of my business. I just looooooove playing with audio/video equipment and I've been fortunate enough over the years to have become the proud owner of some very good, high quality stuff. And as awesome and advanced as a lot of today's components are, I still prefer the "big warm sound" the vintage Fisher, Pioneer, and Marantz decks produce. Of course no matter how high you crank the volume knob, you won't hear a sound without speakers. And when it comes to speakers I still prefer and own large, cabinet-style units that are as much a piece of furniture as the sofa or the coffee table.

You've got a few in your list that took me back to those vintage stereo days for a few minutes - especially Frampton Dreamboat Annie, and Toys in the Attic. I've still got my Denon turntable hooked up but it hasn't spun an album in years.

If you were to package those with other quality LPs you want to get rid of and sell on ebay as a package deal, I would imagine you would get substantially more than trying to sell them individually. Lots of collectors out there that would by just for the art work on alot of those old LPs.

Heck don't sell them, some of them make great wall art. I have a few of my fav album covers framed on the wall downstairs in the den/family room. One of my favs (not to mention fav J song too).......

I have just gotten back into vinyl and even though I'm not playing them on a top of the line turntable (as of yet....it's going to be a wedding present ) I still think nothing beats the sound of vinyl. I had gotten the Bruce Spingsteen Born in the U.S.A. record and the acoustic guitar sounds like it's being played right there in person.
