Horrific Tanker Truck Accident Yesterday in Phoenix

Postby JRNYMAN » Fri Nov 11, 2011 7:41 am

A milk truck rear-ended a diesel tanker truck on the I-10 freeway here in Phoenix yesterday causing both trucks to explode into flames. The milk truck driver was able to crawl out of his truck and free himself but he was on fire and died next to his tanker minutes later. This happened about 1.5 miles from my house on the main freeway through the PHX metro area, right in the middle of the morning rush hour! What a mess!
Firefighters had to link hoses together to reach the nearest hydrant which was more than 1/4 mile away
What a freakin mess! The freeway was closed until 5:00 this morning because the roadway had to be resurfaced.

The raw video tells pretty much the whole story of how intense the fire was.

You are lucky to have not been caught in that. Be careful out there.
