iTunes Match

Anyone (besides "Strangegrey") sign up for this service yet? You can access your complete iTunes library across all your computers/mobile devices through iCloud. Any songs you have (no matter how you acquired them) will be upgraded to 256 kbps if it matches in the iTunes library. If a song doesn't match then it gets uploaded to iCloud. $24.99 a year.

So, if our 5 gig of albums from Pirate Bay can be matched up, we get the legitimate downloads for 25 bucks? Sweeeet!

They seem to be including bootlegs too (if they don't have it, you just upload it) interesting..

The fact hat iTunes match will replace anything you have at 128 Kbps with a 256 Kbps version regardless of the original source of the music file is amazing. That in itself sets it apart from Google music, which is cool too and free, but you have to upload everything from your hard drive.

While I spend more on music in a year than anyone I know there are certainly files from the Napster days that I got on a "discount" that would now be legitimized and upgraded. $25 to do that throughout my entire collection and access across up to 10 devices sounds good to me.

Has anyone given iMatch or Google Music a try yet?

I just got my new iPhone 4S and Apple TV. Still organizing my iTunes library before trying iMatch. With the amount of stuff I have I know it's going to take awhile.

Pretty cool, though lossless audio would be better...:)
128 blows, surprised they even still allow downloads at that bitrate.

Agreed.

Pretty cool though overall. Crazy that Apple is offering this. I'm pleased.
