I made my own and tweak it every so often. It has stuff that I like, my kids like, and my wife likes. Sort of the one that works for everyone. Most of it fits on one CD, except the last three. The Mark and Brian Elfis thing is always good for a laugh. My kids love it.

001 - Train - Shake Up Christmas
002 - Elvis Presley - Merry Christmas Baby (With Gretchen Wilson)
003 - Melissa Etheridge - Glorious
004 - Andre Bocelli - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
005 - Billy Squire - Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You
006 - Little River Band - Mary's Boy Child
007 - Money, Eddie - Everybody Loves Christmas
008 - Downey Jr, Robert - River
009 - Lavigne, Avril - O Holy Night
010 - Relient K - Silent Night, Away In A Manger
011 - Relient K - I Celebrate The Day
012 - Charles, Ray - That Spirit Of Christmas
013 - Andre Bocelli - What Child Is This (With Mary J. Blige)
014 - Hall & Oates - Jingle Bell Rock
015 - Mellencamp, John - I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Clause
016 - McDonald, Michael - White Christmas, Winter Wonderland.mp3
017 - Tesh, John - In A Child's Eyes
018 - Mark & Brian - Elfis
019 - Trans Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve - Sarajevo 12 - 24
020 - Sheryl Crow - There is a Star That Shines Tonight
021 - Taylor Swift - White Christmas

I think you've just described what we ALL like about 80's music. It's not that it's the best music (okay, I'm already disagreeing with myself), but it's what we were doing when those songs were released that make us enjoy them so much. Nah... They really are the best songs ever.

I thought about buying Chicago's Christmas album a couple of days ago, but figured I'd better check it out on Itunes first to see if I like it. I still need to.

It's a very good album. One of my favorite tracks (live version... loved Champlin, Chicago's done): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrzCRqiMbb4

I also like Hall & Oates's and America's christmas albums. TSO albums are good too for the most part, but that stuff gets a little tired sometimes.

No more so than anything else, IMO.

This is actually one of my favorites. Have it in the rotation every year at our Christmas Party.

It used to be "MONSTER BALLADS: X-MAS", but just last week someone gave me one by a TSO-style band called the Northern Light Orchestra. Another compilation made up of several well-known rock and metal musicians. Seems like the production is way too bassy, but there is still some good stuff on it. Here's one of the songs I really like:

God Was Born a Baby

The singer on this one may be Brian Stewart, but it sounds a heck of a lot like Johnny Gioeli. Problem is, I have a list of the musicians on the album, but can't find track-by-track credits anywhere.

No, but even Daniel Dennett, one of the Four Horsemen of what's been called the "New Atheist" movement, still enjoys Christmas time, singing traditional hymns, and so forth. He even reminds me of Christmas for some reason.

There are so many individual Christmas songs that I love, but these are some of my favorite entirely-Christmas albums:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - all three of their Christmas albums
Steve Lukather - SantaMental
Mannheim Steamroller - Christmas, Fresh Aire Christmas
Jon Anderson - 3 Ships
Merry Axemas 1 and 2

And for those that enjoy TSO, a new Christmas album from four of their former voices may be of interest: The Kings of Christmas ( http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... hp?t=53728 )
