ahh youth....
to relate this...shortly before my xmas holiday trip with family this year, i went to the dr to get a prescrip for an anti biotic (shitty long term flu to blame)...got on the scale as part of the standard process, and was mortified, i was 270lbs...im 6'2...im typically managing a 230 weight...kinda put me in a bad mood for a bit... as soon as i got back home i started a diet program and completely cut out drinking...rejoined a gym, and in a scant 5 days, i dropped 8 lbs...i mustve been bloated...anyway, im drinking today, but come tomorrow im back on my plan...hoping to get down to 210 by mid year maybe more. then i plan to pick up weekend only drinking, not excessive.
anyway, thats the plan, life has a way of spoiling such targets, (i was on my way to a 30+ weight loss in '09 but went through a bad break up which took a toll), but thats the good thing about the new year, you get another chance to get it right. good luck to anyone with ambitious new years resolutions.

I hate resolutions, I think it better to reflect on a year, and decide to make better decisions, but not so much of a promise. Promises are meant to be kept, instead I would rather go with a plan to improve myself.
I may not reach all the goals and plans, but I can strive to do better. Nothing broken, or no regretting. Just learning from reflection.

Happy New Year AFP and thanks so much for the caricature. That made my return to MR complete.
~ Jim HensonI spend a few minutes in meditation and prayer each morning. I find that this really helps me to start the day with a good frame of reference. As part of my prayers, I thank whoever is helping me - I`m sure that somebody or something is - I express gratitude for all my blessings and try to forgive the people that I`m feeling negative toward. I try hard not to judge anyone, and I try to bless everyone who is part of my life, particularly anyone with whom I am having any problems.

I have the foundation from guitar (at least notes/scale-wise), but it's amazing how different playing bass is from playing guitar.
I'm really having fun so far. I've been working on learning some go-to licks, getting used to right hand fingerpicking bass-style, and teaching myself a few songs. Boston's basslines have surprised me: Scholz composed some NICE melodic bass lines for some of their songs, like Peace of Mind. Really fun to play and great melody, a lot like Paul McCartney's basslines.

Good for you! Maybe you'll be this good one day.![]()
I watched that 7 minute intro from 2 feet away along with one of the best guitar solos I've ever seen live too.....lol stunned silence from the crowd 'til we could collectively pick our jaws up off the floor.
Two extremely talented players that just have to be witnessed live............. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03y---SUx_E
Happy New Year all!
