Everything is Everything but Deano's Missing

Postby rockinfayrose » Wed Feb 29, 2012 2:37 pm

I'm just so overwhelmed with grief I really don't know how to keep going on with the realization. My heart cracks and my eyes cry a little more every minute but I needed to start my own thread to honor RockinDeano because he was so special to me...

Oh Dean, you were the best friend I ever had, a one-of-a-kind individual and a good-hearted man. Your presence is unforgettable. I'll never forget when you told me "I should join this cool music site". After I did, I would check in to MR several times a day just to get entertained with your classic posts. I got such a kick out of your avatar themes changed for whatever season it was and your unique way with words - lettuce for hair and chicklets for teeth made me smile every time. You always made me smile even when I wasn't happy. I would get so upset when fellow posters bashed you here because I knew what a sensitive soul you really did have and how often misunderstood you were. You've struggled with so much pain in this life, so I should find solace in knowing you can be at peace now, but I can't seem to be unselfish long enough to stop missing you and wanting you back. You made my life a better place in so many ways, and I love you more than you know. The time I knew you was my greatest joy, and you being gone is now my greatest pain...

You promised me we would see a show together on the next Springsteen tour...I have two tickets and the seat next to me is still yours

"Fire & Rain" James Taylor

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Dean the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to

I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Won't you look down upon me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around
Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you, baby, one more time again, now

Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you fire and rain, now

The outpouring of love and respect for Deano is so amazing. We've put down the anger and come together as one to celebrate one of our own. It's a beautiful thing and Deano was a beautiful soul.

I will tell you that I never met Deano but felt I knew him just the same. That is is gift few have the ability to convey. I reread his P Ms today and it was both fun and sad. When I 1st joined someone was rude and he told them "leave her alone". He would call me Squirty and the Repub. I wish I could have done more. It is hard to even say enough words to his family to try to alleviate their pain.

Many have mentioned getting pm's from him. I, too, got 1 or 2 from him (years ago now) when I started posting on MR...and quite shocked actually as the "Private Message" lit up at the top of the page and found it was Deano that wanted to chat. I do enjoy posting my views on the forums but don't get really friendly with anyone.. At the time, I felt honored to have such an important poster "ring" me, and stated that to him. He kind of said..."aw, me?...important?...no..." He did say he liked my "posting style" and I think we both share the inclination of being "night owls" as we seemed to be the only ones online at a god-awful time of the night. We only exchanged a few pleasantries on 2 occasions, I believe, each time originated by him. I just think Deano is the kind of guy that, when a fairly new poster comes onboard, he PM's them...kind of like "breaking the ice" as his posts tend toward the "edgy" (harsh) side...and may not present the best of impressions. I think, for all his "boisterious" personna in his "public" posts, he wants you to realize there's a soft side to him, too.

Really, a gentle giant as many have alluded of Deano. I think there will be many days of grieving before things get back to normal around here.
