Is it really worth seeing these guys? Sure doesn't sound like it from the clips, especially not at the prices they charge.

I can't answer for everyone, but, YES!! I've heard great reviews ...
Eddie is playing better than he has in years (DLR's presence ups his game), DLR's
vox are rough, yes, but I coud not care less ...he was always more
of a showman than great vocalist anyway. MA will be missed (by me),
but I 've heard some great things about Wolfie boy.
Every year I sit back and think, these moments/chances could end at
any given moment and I don't want to miss them ... same ^^^holds
true for Kiss ...and other favs from my youth.

Oh, and I'd like to add ...I prefer paying the big bucks
for the original singers (the singers who made the band what they are),
rough vox and all, and original guitar players, no matter their drug/alcohol
history ~than to pay a lesser amt. for a newfangled
updated version of a band I no longer recognize.

I used to think along the "this might be my last chance" lines too, especially since my being younger means I didn't get a chance to see many (all?) of these bands in their primes. But I've pretty much seen everyone at least once now (including Van Hagar last time around), and in the last couple years, I've been feeling more and more disappointed with some of these bands I see. They are just done. Interestingly, I've noticed a lot of the 80s bands (even those with originals) are worse than some bands dating back to the 60s and 70s.

The 80s bands don't mix it up enough or realize their limitations and the need to adjust accordingly. The Bands from the 70s know they're not youngsters anymore and do what it takes to give a good show without making fools of themselves.

Saw Hall and Oates, Boz Scaggs and Moody Blues the last two years. All outstanding. Granted, they were all a bit slower and the voices a bit lower but all great shows, especially Scaggs.
