If I may add on to this...well, I'm gonna anyway...

Most - not all - people in this upcoming generation believe in the "insta-success....JUST ADD WATER!" approach to Music.

OF COURSE they're going to court young people on these type of shows:
Because they're green and gullible.

Sorry if that's harsh, but I've seen it happen time and time again....

...NEVER MIND the fact that a Singing Voice DOES NOT REACH full timbre, style, sound, potential, stability, strength, and phrasing / expression UNTIL THE AGE OF 30.

I heard Sophie Tweed-Simmons auditioned on the X- Factor & got 3 out of 4 yes votes.
Wonder if she has a singing vox? Hopefully she has her mom's voice and not Genes...

This show is soooo scripted it's down right funny. From the solo girls becoming the best all girl band, to that sexy little girl being given a boring slow paced duet eraly on to make it seem she might be on her way out. yada..yada..yada... Sure there is some decent talent there, but this is no way...a competition...it's purely for entertainment. I'm sure the winner is already recording their cd. lol...

I agree! I got sucked into watching "The Voice" last night, and quite frankly, these people suck! I enjoyed singing competitions much more when we had Star Search! But, these "artists" are all manufactured along with their music. It's horrible.
