Glowing Waves

This past weekend we went to the beach and watched this for a while.

Best place to see it is where there is absolutely no light from street lamps and city lights of such, during high tide where there is large waves. We only knew this was going on now at the beach because our youngest daughter told us that her biology teacher said he'd give anyone extra credit who goes and gets some pictures of this for the class. I was expecting the water to be glowing but when I saw the waves light up, that was wild. It's supposed to be going on for the rest of October in the Pacifica, Ca area.

A few years back I was at the beach and saw the water which looked like there was an oil spill or something. Now after watching this video, I now know that it wasn't an oil slick that I saw at the beach during the day, it was this thing. It was really cool to see it at night a few weekends ago.
