I'm more interested in Nokia 920.

The iPhone 5 is impressive but there is no "holy shit" factor that would make me want to run out and buy it. When you compare the specs of the iPhone 5 to the 4S there really isn't a huge difference between the two. My 4S with iOS 6 is all I need.

Knowing that the 4S is capable of upgrading to the new OS, I might just grab the 4S or go with a Droid Razr. I was waiting for the iPhone 5 to come out before making a decision on diving back into the smartphone market, and I'm not really convinced that the new iPhone 5 is enough to make me want to raise my cell phone bill each month.

Anyway, I was enjoying the phone and resisting putting a case on there because it's just so thin and cool. But finally last weekend, I broke down and went over to the Apple store to snag a case (I didn't want to give Verizon another penny after the way they dealt with me and my preorder frustrations). The buffoons there told me Apple still has NOT "approved" any "official" iPhone 5 cases nearly a month after its release, and they thus have no cases. Then the idiot feeds me bullshit about how the new light design is totally "drop proof." Maybe it's more resistant, but I'm not taking that chance on a $600 device. That was strike 2. So I break down and go get a case from Verizon.
Then, this week, I started noticing my iPhone behaving just a TAD strangely. For instance, I would get some lag/lockup when I'd touch an icon or swipe over to the next screen of icons. Finally, tonight, my phone just starts refusing to connect to WiFi after working perfectly for 3 weeks. I've now tested it on 3 different networks (home, my network, and my parents' network) and reset my network settings. No dice. I know there have been a bevy of wireless problems with these devices in general (which Apple has kept mum about), but I was thinking I dodged them. Not so. Fuck this shit. I'm a total Apple mark. I have an iPod classic, iPod touch, iPad2, iMac, MacBook Pro, and most recently, my first iPhone (this 5). But their quality has been slipping for the last 2 years (i.e., this started before Jobs died, but probably after his control over the company was more or less over). Now I have to take time I don't have on my precious Saturday morning going over and exchanging the fuckin phone. I buy Apple products because I was sick of dealing with shit like this. If they're going to slip to this level, then there's no differentiating between them and PCs. The thing that pisses me off the most is they have not been straight with customers about this, instead you have Tim Cook sending some bullshit "apology letter" to brokeass hippies too poor to afford their personal transportation complaining that maps won't guide them to their subway. Who gives a fuck. At least they owned up to AntennaGate with the iPhone 4.
I'm probably going to sell my Apple shares soon. Fuck them.

Calm down chachi.
Apple should have cases available by now, you're right. But the only official case that apple has released since the first iphone is that stupid bumper.
The best protection for your iphone is the InvisiShield that not only protects your iphone but it doesnt make it look ugly and bulky .
The iphone 5 is NOT drop resistant. I found this out 2 weeks ago when my wife dropped hers ( she has always used a case, but of course she was waiting for a case for her iphone 5 just like you). The screen was shattered and she was devestated. I told her to call Apple and ask about her options. Well she did and they told her she would have to pay $279 for repair of the screen. However the nice lady at Apple could tell how this sounded like too much money on a phone that was 10 days old and we had just paid $400 for. She told my wife she is gonna transfer her to a senior supervisor to see if they can give her a discount on the $279 repair fee. The nice supervisor told my wife not only will he waive the entire amount, but they will send her a NEW iphone 5 to replace the broken one! THAT my friend is customer service![]()
Your wifi issue isnt anything close to what the antenna on iphone 4 was. Have you called apple to see what they can do about it ? They would give you options to either replace it or simply take it back for full refund. How are they "slipping to this level " ? when you dont even give them a chance to make it right.
And youre "strike one" was really not Apple's fault , was it ?
Selling your Apple shares isnt really gonna be a noticble dent in Apple's universe. It will just affect your own pocket if their stock goes higher up.
Just call Apple and explain it and you will realize that they have the best customer service in the world. Anytime I have had an issue with any of their products they have replaced the product , free of charge, even if the product was out of warranty!
I have found the clarity to be much better on the 5, and the sharpness in color. I had the 4S, and love the 5. It's kept me from needing reading glasses.geminix wrote:I have the 5 and I haven't run into that problem yet. I have noticed something though, totally unrelated. I just got my wife a refurbished 4S and set it up for her and all that. After having both phones in my hand I actually prefer the 4S over the 5. I think the 5 is too long. The size of the 4S and under is actually a perfect size for one-handed functionality. And every freaking application and video and picture and whatever else is only as big as the 4S and under screens anyway so I don't even see why the need for a longer screen unless you like having an extra row of apps on one screen. Big whoopdee doo.
