Yeah, yeah, I realize Halloween was 3 days ago but better late than never.

95% of all pumpkins harvested in the US are farmed within a 90 mile radius of Peoria, Illinois. ( Holy Shit!!) That accounts for nearly 12,300 acres of the fruit.

90% of the pumpkin is made up of water.

The world's fastest time to carve a face into a pumpkin is 20.1 seconds, by David Finkle (UK), on October 7, 2010 (source: Guinness World Records)

The world's heaviest pumpkin was grown by Ron Wallace from Greene, RI and weighed in at a whopping 2,009 lbs. (source: Guinness World Records) (...and it's not very pretty either! It looks more like some kind of tumor they removed from a whale or something.)

26% of those handing out candy give full-size chocolate/candy bars.

90% of parents admit to sneaking goodies from their kids' Halloween trick-or-treat bags. (GUILTY! )

The 3 weeks prior to Halloween account for 83% of annual candy sales industry-wide. (Wow!! Never would've guessed that one.)

30% of kids report that they sort their candy first when returning home from trick-or-treating. (Yup. Me and my cousins would all meet back at one of our houses, dump out our pillow cases and start sorting! )

More than 93% of children in the US go trick-or-treating each year.

Halloween also is recognized as the 3rd biggest party day after New Year's and Super Bowl Sunday.

Halloween is the 2nd highest grossing holiday after Christmas. (Fascinating! That's some serious, serious $$ !!)

Legendary magician Harry Houdini died in Detroit from a ruptured appendix on Halloween in 1926.

Approximately 1,500 couples tie the knot on Halloween nationwide - as did my wife and I. We got married on Halloween night, 1985 (now THAT was a party!!!) and celebrated our 27th anniversary this year!
