Real friends stop by or call.

That's kind of ridiculous...It's not made for face to face relationships but to stay in contact with folks you otherwise wouldn't be able to do so in the normal fashion. It's a great tool, in my opinion.

Like Dave said, FB is a great way to keep in touch with people that you normally wouldn't be able to stay in touch with due to distance.

In the past there have been employees at work who were on FB. They have well over 200 "friends" most who they've never met in person before. I've also talked with tons of people working at Sbux over the past few years who are on FB and have hundreds of "friends". It's like they got this contest going on to see who can get the most "friends". Fuck that shit! Using FB, you too can be a socialite. Fuck facebook!

...and now that that's over, I can go back to being annoyed by everything else that is stupid about facebook. Namely stuff like... "oh i am just so done!" - "why what's wrong?" - "meh, not gonna talk about it here..." then shut up and don't post about it! And when the same person or people do posts like that EVERY WEEK... it's crap like that that has made me cut down my facebook interaction.
