Best cell phone?

Postby Rick » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:20 pm

I had the biggest piece of shit Android phone, ever. I'm sure some of you remember me complaining about it in the past. So, it started getting to where it wouldn't even take a charge anymore, so I got on ebay and bought one. I know how risky that venture is, but it turned out to be in perfect shape. It's an EVO 3D. It has some cool 3D features, but I honestly don't give a crap about that. The reason I wanted that one over the regular EVO is that it has a dual core processor. It works like a champ, and I'm extremely happy with it. I bought my wife one off of ebay too.

With this phone being as good as it is, I would like to know what you think the best cell phone on the market is. I have an upgrade coming soon from Sprint, and while I may not use it, because I'm that damn happy, if there's something dramatically better, I might just.

I think people are way too obsessed with their phones these days.....is what I think. If I can make a call, take pics, send texts, etc, I am fine with that. I think people want their phones to be like computers. I get enough of that at work! I would never want some small assed screen trying to emulate what I do on my computer.
That said, I have an iPhone 3GS. I bought it for 99c, when the iPhone 4 was the thing people were spending their money on. I took the savings that my wife and didn't spend by having to have the latest and bought a new couch. I think the couch will be around longer than most people's phones.

Since everything is Apple in my home from computers, Apple tv (thru airport extreme), I have an Apple 4S. Never had any issues what so ever and my carrier

is Sprint.

+1

I was happy with the 4S, and not sure I needed the 5, but it was the best thing I ever did! It's SO fast, awesome clarity, (I didn't have to get those reading glasses I was about to get), and yes, I do use it as my computer. Since my computer is old, and sucks, and I can't afford a new one in the near future. My husband has a decent laptop, but I'm so used to the speed of the iPhone now, it annoys me!

And worth it when I sold my 16gb 4S on eBay for $364, and was able to get the 32gb 5 for $299. I didn't lose a thing switching. The value of the iPhone in resale is worth it alone. And I don't care that it keeps extending my contract with AT&T. I've had them so long, I can't afford to leave them with the family plan deal we have.

OK, here my take as I just went thru this. First of all I love my apple computer
And my IPod, and my Apple router. For a phone I have been.using android
Running gingerbread, I wanted to "upgrade" to the IPhone 5
But had no idea I could not create widgets( shortcuts)
For direct dialing, messaging,bookmarks ect.
Also for me the notification.light is a big deal, I work in a noisy
Place and rely on it. Apple does not have one on the front for this.
I ended up going with the Motorola RAZR Max HD has the longest
Battery life and has the andriod, features I need. However all reviews
Say the camera is very inferior to the IPhone so avoid if that's
Important to you, it does have gorilla glass on front and KEvlar
On the back, feels sturdy, maybe heavy compared to Gs3
Also comes.loaded with "smart actions" it knows when IAm
Arriving at home, or work, and will adjust itself as I set it to.
Will auto send text IF I receive one while driving, also you can
Create your own custom smart action for whatever you like.
The Apple may have something like this not sure! Just get what
Works for you......

I'm more than likely going to stick with Android because of the freedom it gives you. Our niece, Neelee, is getting an iPhone 5 for Christmas, so I'm going to get a first hand look, and that could sway my decision. The funny thing is, while I'm not a fan of how locked down the iPhone is, this latest version of Android, on this phone anyway, has yet to be rooted.

I have the same phone you do!!  And I feel the same way you do about the importance society as a whole has placed on cell phones. I've never needed the latest and greatest when it comes to my phone because I only use it..... are you ready for this?.... to make and receive calls! Okay, I do text a little bit but never go online, use it for music, its camera sucks so no picture taking... pretty much just make calls.

That's correct. I only post here to troll about non-iPhones. Androids will cause you to blow your voice out and you will have to go to tape.
