Sorry for your troubles. I hope they get sorted out soon.

I got prospects.... I may have a different kind of retail job in my future if the medical office job doesn't work out.

Don't worry, I only talked to my cats in between long crying jags for six hours today.....

The best of luck, SG. I know you'll find something soon. Hopefully a good paying job that you enjoy.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I am sick of how the government spin it, the truth of the matter is we are suffering more and more from lack of employment in this country and I don't care what party you hang your hat with it is a problem for us all!

My son is living with us and cannot find work right now. He has been looking for months.

My brother in law got laid off from an accounting job and decided in order to stay afloat he and his wife started a new business. Of course the first few years will be lean for them even if they do well.

My son in law and daughter are moving away to go take care of their grandparents and to help him run his farm because they cannot find more than 20 hours at minimum wage for one of them!

It is tough out there, and I am so glad I went back just when I did, and how lucky I am to have gotten the good job that I did because there are art teacher students out there with school loans and no one is retiring, moving, or passed away. Teachers who are teaching are teaching longer because they are afraid their retirement will not be enough live on.

I will say a prayer for your family. I am just praying my mother can hold out until retirement age. She has five years if she retires at 63. Seven if she waits until full retirement age. Meanwhile, her employer just piles on more and more work, and tosses all the second and third shifts her way. This despit her already being there a million years and more than working over her dues, and having my 11 year old niece to raise. Meanwhile, the younger pretty thing that was originally hired for just those shifts is getting all the first shifts she wants. It wouldn't be so bad, if it was evenly distrubuted, as it shoujld be. My mom doesn't mind workiing her share, but they have pretty made her the work horse, and the one fo throw all their woes on... If you aren't "cooL", you get the shaft.

I think they want to work her so she will collaspse and quit. She has a pension built up. They can go to hell....Again, wkith the not so Christian light.....

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I know who is quiting her job, and it ain't me...

Retail isn't the only prospect. I was offered a retail job for interum by a silent auction donor I was calling on. I hope I handled it okay...... I thanked her, and said I would consider retail, but I had another prospect that I should hear from on Wednesday, and that I would contact her either way. She offered it as a back-up untyil I find another job. I just didn't want to accept her offer, and get the other offer within a day.....

It is getting to where retirement ages get older and older. Because I became a teacher late in life I will have to work till I am in my late 70s to get full benefits. I truly hope my art takes off before then so we can have another retirement to fall back on. I don't know if I can handle teaching till I am 80.  Right now I am quite happy with my job. I am sorry for your Mom's situation, it is getting worse everywhere with companies that benefited from dues for retirement, but try hard to make it eligible for their clients to draw out.
