Just started working with a new singer...

Postby G.I.Jim » Thu Feb 14, 2013 3:02 pm

MAN I'm excited about the possibilities on this project!! I'm still working (so damn slowly thanks to ALEX) on the Cold Heart project, but have been in contact with a new singer from Charlotte NC who is pumped about working together. He and I have both played at Amos' Southend there in Charlotte which is pretty cool. It's a great club, and is the first place I ever gigged with Frontiers (for about 550 people without even rehearsing with the band first!).

This new singer (Parker) has an amazing voice, and he's in love with the same style of music as I am. He does like a harder edge on his tunes, which is awesome for me, as I LOVE guitar oriented tunes. Dokken, VH, Whitesnake, etc... are some of my favorite bands. I do tend to write much more ballads though as I'm a keyboardist, but SO look forward to working on heavier stuff! He plays keys, guitars, bass, drums, etc... He is extremely talented.

Here he is singing "Hallelujah". I believe this is hands down, the best version of this song that I've ever heard. I had goose bumps the first 2 times I heard it. He sounds a lot like a young Bon Jovi in this song, and his pitch and vibrato are amazing!! Here it is...

That's great news, Jim. Sorry things with Alex didn't work out, but logistically, this is a much better idea and avenue. Looking forward to hearing some demo's. He sounds like a very talented singer. I'm looking forward to buying your album, if you can get it released before I fucking die.  ;)

Just kidding, my friend. The best of luck to you on this.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

He sounds great. Had goosebumps for that last long note - very Perryish - but I like the Bon Jovi sound.

Good luck.

Glad you guys like it. Rick, he's not replacing Alex. I'm still working with Alex on the Cold Heart album (ever so slowly!!), but am starting a new project with Parker. I have a bunch of songs I've written since I finished writing for the CH album, and we'll start with a few of those. He's really into a heavier sound and with that I mean the harder Foreigner, Survivor, Journey type songs. That's awesome to me, as I probably like more guitar oriented stuff than keys. I just write a lot of slow songs because it's easier on the keys than trying to write something faster without having the guitars up front for me. I can't wait to hear how it works out!

We'll probably have two albums finished and I'll STILL be working on the CH album. Lol!!! I'm sending him the first song to work on today, so we'll see how it goes... :D
