So maybe the Department of Homeland Security is buying so much ammo and so many armored trucks in case they have to pull a Cyprus-like stunt on us. If that country can seize 40% of people's deposits to fix their problems, what's to stop the US from doing it when the time comes? Only, Americans are armed pretty heavily.

Most commentators have dismissed the notion of the U.S. having to go that route. They feel there are many other ways for them to get at your money. As far as the DHS building up ammo and equipment it does make one ask what are they expecting or planning for.

I really hate that our government, since long before I was born, feels it necessary to do so many things in secret. And each administration gets worse and worse.

If they did those things not in secret, none of them would be re-elected.
