Women missing for years found alive in Cleveland

Postby Don » Tue May 07, 2013 10:49 am

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22430062

Three US women who disappeared as teenagers a decade ago or more have been found alive in the state of Ohio, police say.

Amanda Berry disappeared aged 16 in 2003, while Gina DeJesus went missing at the age of 14 a year later.

The women were found in a house in the city of Cleveland, along with a third woman, Michele Knight, 32, who also vanished years ago, police confirmed.

A 52-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the case.

Cleveland police said the women, who were taken to hospital, are in good health. At least one of the women is reported to have a baby.

"I am thankful that Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight have been found alive," Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson said.

"We have many unanswered questions regarding this case and the investigation will be ongoing."

A witness told local news station WOIO that he saw a woman holding a baby run out of a house, screaming for help.

Crowds have reportedly gathered at the house where the women were being held.

Ms Berry was last heard from when she called her sister to say she would get a lift home from work at a Burger King restaurant.

In 2004, Ms DeJesus was said to be on her way home from school when she went missing.

Their cases were re-opened last year when a prison inmate tipped authorities that Ms Berry may have been buried in Cleveland. He received a four-and-a-half years in prison for the false information.

This is a case I've followed for years. Amanda was abducted and lived not far from my high school and she is exactly my age, so the case really grabbed my attention then and through the years. and the companion cases of berry and dejesus were always thought to be connected. She had a daughter With this creep and her mom died while she was locked in this cocksuckers dungeon. More macabre details sure to follow...

We have a local case like this. A young african-american girl alexis patterson disappeared in may 2002 without a trace on
her way to school. Hopefully something like this happens for the family. It's ashame it only gets media coverage near the anniversary. But at least it gets some coverage at this point.

Yeah I've been reading about this today. Very odd for sure, especially the timing of it, since the news of that other chick missing and presumed dead actually turned up 10 years later homeless in Florida last week. I can't imagine how these women could have been held captive for this long without ever escaping until now. And it's not one chick we're talking about, we have three chicks. I'm not sure how they couldn't have tried to get away this long. For some reason Patricia Hearst comes to mind right about now.

Were any of these losers actually employed or were they feeding off tax payer money in the form of government assist? I'm still surprised none of these chicks were able to get away until now.

They could have brainwashed them into thinking they couldn't leave, for whatever reason. I can't imagine they were locked in a basement or something for that long. They were said to look fairly healthy when they were rescued.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Too bad the chick didn't get loose while shithead was passed out on the living room couch after ingesting a few bottles of tequila and a box of shitty Slim Jims throughout the evening. If I were her, I would have neutralized that sick fuck by taking a titanium fishing knife and while he's alive, tracing out his carotid artery like trimming fat from a steak.

Since the news about Amanda, Gina and Michelle has been almost 24/7 here in Cleveland, and I've seen a lot of it, I'll mention a few details that I've heard.

The shitbag (Ariel Castro) was keeping them locked up in separate rooms from each other most of the time. He was also chaining them up or using tape to bind their hands and feet.
He had some of the windows of his house boarded up.
He would only go in or out of his house through the back door.
And he would threaten all three of the girls that if one of them were to escape he would kill the other two.

The three brothers are all from Puerto Rico.

Both Amanda and Gina returned home today.
Gina's parents and aunt spoke to the reporters and neighborhood supporters that were gathered outside their house as Gina returned home.

Thanks for the info. I figured they were from Puerto Rico because earlier pix of the house in question showed a Puerto Rican flag but seems the pix now show only an American flag.

I watched some piece of news footage of the guy talking about how he helped the chick get away. The atmosphere resembled how it looks when an icecream truck become dissabled in the hood.

Now there's talk of McDonald's giving ol' boy something for all the times he's plugged Micky D's in all the interviews he's done.

I've watched that call NUMEROUS times already. Charles Ramsey is the new sensation at the moment (even though they are now saying it was another dude who actually did the rescuing of Amanda) and he's a natural when it comes to comedic value. I can watch his interviews all day. He's entertaining without even having to be and has perfect timing in the way he speaks. A street-guy nonetheless, but the dude is hilarious.

"I knew something was wrong when a pretty little white girl was running from a black man's home.....Dead Giveaway". Comedy writers would have a hard time topping that one.

I didn't see the original news footage but I can only imagine.

The chick doing the "cover" version at the end is sort of a nice touch to the video.

He's actually saying "I knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man's arms...Dead giveaway!" Then later he adds something to the effect of "Either she's homeless or she got problems. That's the only reason she running to black man!"

It was only one of those guys who was responsible for what happened to these three women. In regards to Jodi, yeah, if the guy tried that shit with her, she would have killed him just like she did her ex. Probably with same results too in regards to murder conviction and subsequent death penalty just like she's getting for killing her perverted mormon ex-boyfriend.

My mistake ...ARIEL deserves the hook up w/jodi!!
And, Sush, it takes two ...Jodi is a little perverted herself, in fact, more so.
But she's not dead ...yet.

Your absolutely correct, it does take two. Sometimes people get so caught up in something that they end up doing something that can't be undone. I remember watching "Cops" 15 to 20 years ago and you'd see it all the time where a guy would stab his relative with a steak knife and the guy would die and the relative couldn't believe they just killed their relative with a steak knife over some stupid argument, or the one where the guy shot and killed a homeboy for scratching the new paint on his low rider. $2,800 custom paint job which was shitty quality anyways, for his life in prison.

It's a shame that Jodi Arias lost her cool and killed the moron. As with the two examples listed above, Jodi is now realizing too that her freedom was worth much more to her than his life was to her.

What I don't understand about this Jodi Arias situation is they always say the guy she killed was her ex, yet they also say that she and him together right before the killing. My first thoughs were she tracked him down and killed him after a bitter breakup. But now it's starting to get confusing when they say that they were still a couple or something like that.
