Esquire Makes Terrible 9/11 Mistake With Falling Man Photo

Esquire.com made a most unfortunate 9/11 mistake on Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers.

The website placed Richard Drew's photo of a man falling from the World Trade Center next to a headline that read "Make Your Commute More Stylish."

Understandably, people went fucking nuts as it instantly went viral, leaving scathing comments and in some cases violent threats to the editors and staff of the magazine.

As soon as it was noticed, the mag's editor tweeted the following message as well as posting it on their main site and Facebook:
"Relax, everybody. There was a stupid technical glitch on our "Falling Man" story and it was fixed asap. We're sorry for the confusion."

His choice of words only added fuel to the fire in many people's eyes citing "Relax seems like an inappropriate response to this ENORMOUS fuck-up dontcha think? As does referring to it as a "stupid technical glitch".

Ya just gotta wonder if it was really an innocent "glitch" or if some rogue Prod. Asst. or Exec. Asst. with admin rights to Esquire's website did it purposely for whatever reason. It just seems too "on the nose" for it to be completely coincidental.

A "glitch"? Yeah, right. A TOTALLY tasteless attempt at a stupid joke. Fuck those guys.
