Noel Gallagher turns down £20 mill offer for Oasis reunion

Noel Gallagher has reportedly turned down a £20 million (US $33 million) offer for an Oasis reunion world tour.

The Mirror reports the offer included a 2014 world tour to mark the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Definitely Maybe.”

“There were hopes he would do it but frankly, he just doesn’t want to. The Oasis reunion is well and truly off,” a source close to Noel has reportedly revealed. “He has refused all offers, it got to £20 million but even the lure of money like that just didn’t work.”

“Liam is very keen to get back together, if only for the money but Noel is having none of it,” explained the source. “There have been several intermediaries from their respective camps working very hard indeed to reach some form of agreement but Noel isn’t budging and a working solution between the brothers simply can’t be found. It’s a real shame and Noel knows how much his fans would love to see the band reform but he doesn’t want to commit to the time, he is quite happy as he is.”

The latest news re-confirms comments made by Noel last month, telling Rolling Stone, “We are split up. Yeah, so, ergo, band splits up, band is no more. There is no band. So, no, I won’t be getting involved, anyway. If there is a reunion, I won’t be in it.”

“I don’t think there’s any unfinished business,” Noel continued. “I don’t think that we left anything unsaid, do you know what I mean? It’s like, if you’ve seen [Oasis], then good for you. If you didn’t, then that’s fucking tough shit. I’ve never seen the Beatles. So there you go.”

The famous feuding Gallagher brothers have not been on speaking terms since Oasis split in 2009. While Liam and the final line up of the band formed Beady Eye, Noel went on to his solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

“Definitely Maybe” went straight to number one in the UK Albums Charts on initial release. It was the fastest-selling debut album of all time in the UK when it was released and went on to be certified 7x Platinum (2.1 million+ sales) in the country and more than 8 million worldwide.

Believe it or not I actually liked Oasis and have seen them several times, and saw Noel solo once. Noel is the real talent of the two brothers.
