I was thinking the same thing when I heard this. Reminded me of when Ronnie James Dio announced something similar, postponing a tour due to treatment.

Wow John really looked bad towards the end. One good thing, he got married just 2 months ago. At least he had someone by his side.

I never would have recognized him from these pictures. Cancer and the treatments take a ravaging toll on the body.
