Well, fresh off a REAL disappointing weekend, I'm left with the question, Why, Sammy..Why?
See...I got GREAT seats to the Sammy Hagar show in Atlanta, GA which was supposed to be yesterday. Lynyrd Skynyrd was supposed to be on tour with Sammy. Now, I'm not the greatest fan of Skynyrd, but I'd tolerate them just the same to see a (albeit, abbreviated) show of Sammy's. We checked on Redrocker.com the night before, to check what setlist Sammy was playing, and found that the show had been CANCELLED...and the statement "LYNYRD SKYNYRD LEAD GUITARIST GARY ROSSINGTON ORDERED TO REST TO COMBAT MEDICAL FATIGUE ". Wonderful. Great. I wish him well, but that 's not to say SAMMY couldn't have gone on and done a longer show, because MOST of us were going to see HIM anyway. They had FOUR NIGHTS of preparation for this show...four individual party nights in the city of Atlanta, bought and paid for by a local ROCK station, and Sammy just ditches us? First, it's ATLANTA, known for being one of the HOT BEDS of performance history with shows like this, second, LOLLAPOLLOOZA was the NEXT DAY. It's not like they COULDNT find someone to open for them. A Message To Sammy Hagar. Skynyrd Is Old...you are not, and you have disappointed your fans. There was a lot of time, a lot of money, invested in this, a lot of Cabo Wabo Tequila freely flowing through the streets of Atlanta, and I know of at LEAST one pissed off boss who had to change his schedule around for the whole weekend for this. Thanks Sammy...thanks for the memories, that never happened. Maybe I'll go see DLR...he keeps his tour dates.
Sincerely
Disappointed In Georgia
